Zuma will win. Only vote that matters is the shabeen, and I'm sure the delays were caused by waiting many cashintransit vans from the shabeen to arrive... lots of money to count;)

Like others have said, we live in an awesome place, I've stuck it out quite a bit longer than many others in the hope that this awesome place will survive.

I am being preemptive though: it is already too late to get out before the result of this ANC conference is known, but I'll be gone before 2019 depending on this outcome.

The outcome of today is largely irrelevant.

There are those who think a CR win will keep the ANC in power for longer and prolong the spiral, while a NDZ win will get the ANC out as soon as 2019. So it could go either way really.

Having said that though, who would replace them? I'm not really keen for anyone at the moment.

If NDZ wins and the SACP and Cosatu actually stick to their guns, it should most definitely weaken their voter base in 2019. But then again, they're all talk and full of hot air at the end of the day. So hopefully the other voters will grow a clue, but thats also being a bit too optimistic.
 
If NDZ wins I predict an election early in 2018.
The Ramaphosa faction will not accept defeat at this stage as everything points to them enjoying overwhelming support from the ANC grassroots. They will know the conference was rigged if they lose now.

The Ramaphosa MP's (there are definitely many more than the 50 needed) will join the opposition in parliament to remove Zuma as president in early January. It will be a secret ballot (Mbete is now openly in the CR camp).
She as speaker will be appointed president when parliament fails to replace Zuma. Elections will then be held within a month.
The ANC will be spilt and in disarry, with the 2 factions competing against each other in the elections.

There is a good chance the CR faction will get enough support to form a coalition with the DA and other opposition parties - excluding the EFF.

This scenario will see SA go through hell for the next few months, but chances are we emerge with a new more accountable political landscape.

I however hope CR wins just to spare us the drama.
