P2P ADSL Internet Access is Here

Perhaps the other services should start showing off their specifications!!! We can then realise what the advantages or disadvantages are. We the only guys in SA to tell you upfront about our ADSL service specs.

Its pointless battering a ram in comparison to others with no information.

I do agree with you but just saying.

My view (just reading the thread).

As a torrent user for many years I really do not see any advantage between your services specialising in p2p and business uncapped services from your competitors.

It does not really matter to most just how fast it gets done, they would rather wait a little longer and at the end of the day get say 300GB worth of downloads done than pay more and have a 100gb cap.

Most torrent users are on 2meg and 4meg lines.
It does not matter if you supply something that allows a 100meg/s download speed (or whatever your speed is) but nobody can download at it.

Guys with 10meg lines would love this but if you can only download 100gb per month it's not really worth it.

A quick edit. Usenet is what I use now.

Thank you for that. Its appreciated. We have options upto 1TB.

I think R400/100GB's would be fair, and contracts should be dropped altogether if possible. Just my opinion.

Well yeah, on any circuit speed that would be a good price. Currently paying less than R800 for both line & subs and doing around 300GB a month which is less than half of what the OP's price is and it excludes the extra cost of the line.

I hope my post didn't appear to be saying anything negative about this product, I just wanted to highlight the nntp speeds.

My sincere apologies if I made you feel uneasy. Your post hasn't upset me in any way. The reason for me starting this discussion is to get your input. I find it most valuable and welcome all opinions. Its your input that will help me make my services better.

My response was a light hearted nick punning on Telkom. Once again my apologies.

Too Expensive!! I would rather pay less & I really don't mind letting my torrents run overnight as they are always there in the morning :)

Ok Guys. We heard you.

Prices for 100GB has been come down to R499.00. Its the best we can do on a premium service

You are paying R300 too much.

I assume this price is not including the adsl portion and is for the adsl data only?
Or is this for ADSL line and Data portion? still require Telkom infrastructure?

All our P2P services exlude the ADSL line and will give you full line speed access

The focus on this discussion should be on normal capped VS P2P as the above info clearly shows that uncapped services from any ISP is not even supposed to feature in a P2P discussion.

The only time uncapped can be compared to capped services in P2P is when it runs on a true fiber backbone incl. last mile. Those services start at about R9000 pm.
