Paradox IP150 configuration issue

What version breaks PAI then?

issue... you also can't downgrade again... so ye you take a change hoping it will still work, if it works, sweet, if it does not, you're screwed... you can't go back and now PAI/HA won't work.

I was using the FW as it was, and configure the IP150 management console to email me events via the email notification, but fckd... they havent fixed that in ages... to the point that Google now disabled allowing apps with low security to use it as a smtp relay. so that now broke. so ye maybe they've fixed that in the new FW ... made Google happy, but then it will break PAI/HA.

Newer versions of IP150 firmware remove functionality. The email function was pretty broken in 4.x and 5.x just removed pretty much everything, no webui at all etc.

Doesn't break PAI at all though.
 
as per the PAI wiki so far.

It supports MG/SP/EVO panels (firmwares below 7.50.000) connected through a serial port, which is present in all panels (TTL 5V), or through a USB 307 module. It also supports connections using the IP150 module, both directly (ip module firmware version < 4.0 or >= 4.40.004), and through the SITE ID (firmware versions >4.0)

with the newer versions PIA is not longer able to log onto the IP150.
aka can not talk to it anymore.

You keep writing stuff that isn't correct. PAI works fine with 5.x firmware.


The github page doesn't say anything about firmware for the IP150 being an issue.

It also supports connections using the IP150 module, both directly (ip module firmware version < 4.0 or >= 4.40.004), and through the SITE ID (firmware versions >4.0)

If you have an EVO AND connect over serial (i.e. not via an IP150, then > firmware 7.5 is a problem, as they encrypt the serial data). Not IP150 or IP150+ related.
 
that is a copy from the wiki as per the maintainer of PAI... yes at times it "might" work at times... but as far as support is concern, thats his supported versions.

so likely issue (>firmware 7.5 on the Evo) if you use PAI on a Rpi or the like?

I've got an Evo panel so i should keep that in mind as i was going to mess around with PAI on a Rpi..
 
problem is the IP150 FW... not where you run it (it being PAI on HA).

I run HA on a Pi atm via the HASOS drop, but you can also run HA in a container on a Synology, makes no difference where HA and associated PAI run's.

If you have an EVO panel, upgrade past 7.5, then the firmware encrypts the serial data out of the panel.
This really only affects people who are connecting to one directly over a serial cable.

Most panels here don't get upgraded to be honest, so not so much of a deal here., and most people will use an IP150 or IP150+

my IP50 is currently on v5.02.058, not sure if its a norm or + .

okay - the Raspberry Pi PAI connects via serial. I will check whatt firmware my EVO panel is on. I got it recently.

I currently use the olarm which i believe connects via serial. I recall installer needing a code to unlock serial comms before the olarm worked - code was provided by paradox distributor after enquiry by installer.

Really doesn't matter what you upgrade your IP150 to (or +) currently.
The only difference between versions is that you lose web functionality, as thats deprecated - they really want you to use the app. You can still use PAI or other solutions to connect on current firmware.

Different hardware in the Paradox environment has different firmware versions. When they talk about EVO 7.5, they're talking about the alarm panel - i.e. the alarm board that runs the alarm..

MG series - MG5050 is the most common here I think. I have several in various locations. Popular with ADT.

EVO series - (haven't played with them), just don't update past 7.5 if you use the serial connection (fine if you're using IP150).

Got the MG5050 for wireless @ 866Mhz. For me the ipgold for mobile and babyware local for control updates is sufficient.
