[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

I'm almost sure it has to be a software problem, because the auto-dimming goes away as soon as I adjust the backlight levels in the service menu, then it doesn't do it anymore, but obviously you have to switch off the tv and back on again to get out of it, then the problem returns. If AstroTurf's settings don't help, I'm phoning them.
Possible yeah, normally Hisense on here would update you.

Has anyone had a small white light/spot on the screen when it's on? Easier to see on lighter scenes. About 1cm across. Just showed up a week ago. Anything I can do to fix it? Not sure I want to go through the whole replacement/warranty process. My model 50a6100uw.
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

Looking at 2x options for a new TV.. (budget 10k)

1. Hisense 55" ULED TV with over a billion colours (55B8000UW)
2. Hisense 65" UHD Smart TV with HDR and Digital Tuner (65B7100)

Which would be a better option ? bigger or clearer ?

thanks

Depends on what you're used to if you ask me, I have the 65B7100 and it's great (except for this weird dynamic backlight issue I have) but it's obviously not gonna be as nice to look at as the ULED tv, I had a 60" tv before this one and couldn't get myself to go smaller and 65" ULED tv's are a bit too expensive for me.

So if you're used to tv's around that size, then I'd say go for the 55", but if you've had bigger  , then go for the 65"

I'm moving up from 47" - so I think you have answered my question .. 55" might be the better option :)

65" for sure. I have one. Most amazing TV.

It depends if you're looking for size or quality.
I would personally go for the 65B7100UW but that's just me.
You're probably future proofing yourself better if you go for the 55B8000UW.

I think it's black level..

No luck, tried with exactly the same settings and it’s still dimming. And I’ll probably have to wait till saturday to be able to phone Hisense support.

@Hisense SA how do I turn the backlight auto dimming off on the 65B7100, is there somewhere I can download an update as I don’t see any links on the website for it?

Quick Update: So I managed to get into the Service Menu:-

Settings -> Sound -> Advanced Audio -> Make Sure Balance is on "0" (Centered) -> type in 1969 and then you will get a Green M on top left hand corner. Use the menu as with normal menu. I managed to increase the volume slightly. Few settings I didn't play with as I don't understand them and do not want to really mess things up.

Anyway, after accessing this menus (and not changing much besides the sound), I switched the TV off. A while later for some stupid unknown reason, the original remote works again, and now Netflix just works, I do not have to keep resetting it. Don't ask me how, I am mind boggled as well.
I. How did you find the balance section? Mine only offers an Equalizer one. And when I press 1969 nothing happens. Also, everything on Equalizer is at 0.

Where ever your sound balance option is.

Hi all

I just bought the 55a6100uw, I've successfully updated the TV software as per instruction in this topic. Thanks for that.

My question is regarding the DSTV app. I'm not getting an HD picture when streaming, I have a 20mb Fibre line and getting full speed download. I'm using ethernet cable into my router and I've also tried wifi, still getting terrible picture quality...

Why am I not getting 1080p and what can do to get higher quality picture?

Would really appreciate if someone could assist me

B8000 is the better model with dolby vision and dolby atmos, through If don't have media player that support dolby vision and atmos then you will probably be happy with B7100.

You will need have High end fire tv media player, nvidia shield or apple tv if you want dolby vision and atmos.

any advice on how to get DSTV app to stream in HD ?

Well, make sure the app quality setting is set to 1080p (this should be your first step)

Remember, not all channels will be streamed in HD. I know some of them say "HD" but trust me, I've grown accustomed to DSTV Now not streaming everything in HD. Things like the sports channels yes, they're full HD, but others I've found to be "pseudo" HD.

Bottom line, make peace with it, not something that you can really change for some channels.
