[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

My review.

For an entry level TV the image quality is really good. Big improvement from my older 48" 4k Hisense TV. HDR is more a gimmick on this model though.
Software and apps are a joke. Netflix can't remember my details. On Plex 720p content can't even play without buffering every 10sec. And that's over ethernet. App selection is also pretty crap.
I've asked @Hisense SA for an update but they're not responding and I've mailed their support for an update link but the dude advised me to do a factory reset. On a brand new TV.
If anyone has a link to an update for va002 I'd highly appreciate it.
Otherwise I guess you get what you pay for. Will make a plan for streaming content.
Overall if you're just using it for a monitor it's good, but go for a more high end model if you want to use the smart functions.

BTW have any of you had any luck recently registering your product for the extra year warranty?
It's been a week an nothing yet regarding registration.

I attempted to register my washing machine twice and it's been over a month :(. Guess their systems are down.

The date and time has changed. My hisense does this after a power failure.
Ah. Thanks. I'll have to sort it out myself if I get home. I can't tall her to be do it else I'll get called the entire time for instructions :)

You were 100% correct.

My next question will be to Afrihost. My TV is set to update the time automatically, but I've recently switched to Afrihost and it seems its now not updating the date and time automatically. I had to manually update it and everything is working as it should.

Yup happens on my TV as well. So quick fix :) Mweb doesn't auto update either on time.
 
Did yoh ever manage to sort this out
There was a reply somewhere earlier in the posts that sorted the issue for me:

There's a hidden SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION folder that windows puts on the usb stick. You will need to go untick the option to "Hide protected operating system files". Simply showing hidden folders wont show this folder. Because other files exist on the stick it doesnt update.

You also cant delete this from file manager, you need to do it from command line.

Remove the folder from the command line using the below link:

The TV now sees a package available from the update from USB option but it seems the one from the website is the same/older version to mine because it doesnt apply the update

I installed the remoteNOW app on my phone, all works fine except the volume control. Could this be because I am using the ARC option? Through the normal IR remote there is no issue.
I'm actually using the MQTT in Home Assistant simulating the remoteNOW all fantastic except for the volume.
 
Any updated firmware for the 55A6500? Currently on I0529 and I have a problem opening apps.
 
Hi All, please i need help on a this model HE55M5600UCWTS/55M5600UCW, it is a 55" curve TV and i need the equivalent model for SA and Europe possible with the firmware.

Hi @Hisense SA can you perhaps provide me with the latest software for the 65K600PAD tv? The tv feels extremely sluggish and the smart tv functionality is extremely slow. Hoping that a firmware update would resolve these issues.

Hardly anything is perfect, and the support @Hisense SA was giving in this thread was amazing. However, all these minor niggles people are experiencing with firmware and the lack of response now is quite worrying. It's basically gone from me seriously considering a Hisense smart TV to now rather hanging on and buying a more premium TV instead due to the lack of support here. 'Tis a bit sad!
 
I was considering high sense but will probably end up with an older Samsung.

I have the Hisense A6100|55A6100UW – got this from my label on the back of the TV

My current software version is V0000.01.00a.I0417
Extended Version I0417

I’ve downloaded the firmware update from your site and got the usb_HEA6100UWTS 2.bin file. Put it on a FAT32 USB drive. But the TV does not update. When I
go to update firmware from USB it detects that there is a update available and when I click reboot the TV just starts normally –> Soccer World Cup Logo -> TV interface.

FYI for those with a 50A6100UW there seem to be 3 versions of updates:

1)If your firmware version starts with VA002, its the below firmware.

2) If it starts with V0000, its the firmware on the Hisense website.

3) My tv's ver was V0000.01.00a.I0421, but the above did not work, so the software update that worked was in this link as received from Hisense SA on this forum.

I think I am the the same situation. But the links 3 is dead. My problem is that the NETFLIX app is giving issues. Gives an error randomly then I have to reset everything for
it to work again.

Can you please send a link to update my firmware that can work.

Likewise.

I was also keen on purchasing a Hisense model, but with all these niggles of issues users are reporting with firmware's etc, I'll also rather opt for a LG or Samsung model :confused:
