Is there a major difference between the 55A6100 and the 55A6500 in terms of features?

Hey there Auriga1000

the 55A6500 almost have double the amount of nits and slightly faster graphical processing making it not only better looking with its silver frame but way more colorful and the frame rate more smooth.

Hisense SA, is there firmware update for 50K321UW?

I'm struggling with the Plex app, only plays older files. Hoping it's a firmware issue.
 
Anyone with a Hisense 43A5600PW? I'm looking at getting a smart TV for the bedroom to minimize the cables and decoders/set top boxes. Can someone confirm if you can use DSTV Now on this TV? I see Netflix, YouTube and Showmax are listed as apps that work.

That finally worked, and update installed. Thanks Hisense SA.

FYI for those with a 50A6100UW there seem to be 3 versions of updates:

1)If your firmware version starts with VA002, its the below firmware.

2) If it starts with V0000, its the firmware on the Hisense website.

3) My tv's ver was V0000.01.00a.I0421, but the above did not work, so the software update that worked was in this link as received from Hisense SA on this forum.

Hi Bro,

I have the 50A6100UW and have received the same link as Your Point 1 and Point 2 - No luck with updating the firmware.

I tried to download the firmware as per your Point 3 but the download has been deleted.

Do you by any chance have it and could you send me a link to download that firmware?

I've been struggling with the firmware update issue for weeks.

I've had a 50A6100UW for about 10 months now, and I've never been able to upgrade the firmware - either through the automatic detection (which I read somewhere, if you change your TV region to UK it'll detect the UK firmware update online) or via USB. I tried every variation of the upgrade instructions:

* Switching unit off at the plug while switched on, plugging flash drive in, holding power button on remote while restoring power - nothing happens

* Switching TV off, plugging flash drive in, holding power button on remote while switching TV on using power button on TV - nothing happens

* Tried multiple flash drives, and reformatted them a couple of times - FAT16 and FAT32

I logged a ticket with Hisense, they gave me the same set of instructions as above, and they supplied me with the firmware file in your 2nd point - usb_HEA6100UWTS 2.bin - that didn't work either.

I came across this post and downloaded the firmware in your 3rd point and low and behold, it worked! And it worked simply through upgrading the firmware from USB through the GUI, not using any of these convoluted steps above.

I'd been plagued with the same Netflix issue as a lot of Hisense TV's (i.e. it works the first time you sign in, but once you switch off the TV and try again later it doesn't work anymore, unless you reset the app and sign in again), but that's been resolved now. It's also patched out the Russia 2018 World Cup splash screen, and the unit seems to switch on and display much quicker than before.

TL;DR - thank you @Bunta you made my weekend :cool:

The link in point #3 no longer works. Any chance you could send me a link to download. Also have the same TV as you. This netflix/dstv now not working issue has been driving me mad for weeks.

43A5600 supports DSTVnow, netflix, showmax, prime video, and youtube. DSTVnow will load in the background when the internet is connected.

Thanks for the response, is the only difference between the 43A5600 and the 43A6100UW the fact that the latter is UHD?
 
Does anyone know how to disable the auto dimming? I have the 43" uhd smart tv(HE43A6100UWTS).
 
I have the 55" one and for some reason the showmax app won't play. It starts loading and then gets stuck "waiting for network" then fails. Anyone know a fix, can't remember the full model name but it's the UHD one

Yeah bro, I have the same issue as you. The fix is getting the correct firmware version (bin file) and updating the TV's firmware.

All the links to them on this thread are dead. Am hoping someone has a working link and posts it here so we can resolve this issue once and for all.

I'm having issues updating mine as well. My tv model is HE50A6100UWTS . The wifi keeps getting reset after I switch the off and Netflix doesnt play videos. I have to keep re-entering the wifi password and resetting Netflix which is very annoying. The firmware I downloaded from the Hisense site ( usb_HEA6100UWTS 2 ) is not updating the tv with all the methods given on the site
 
Okay so I finally have DSTV Now and Showmax working perfectly on my TV. I have a 55A6100UW. It "only" took a week to get this resolved . In an effort to help others, just follow my steps below and you'll be sorted ASAP:

The fix is to:

1. Download the firmware (.BIN file) from this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YAlzY9FFiYuAPObMkx6fDwhueuImUg6K (This is my own Google Drive. The link/file WILL NOT DE DELETED)
2. Format a USB flash disk as FAT32.
3. Copy the .bin file as-is onto the root of the USB flash disk (Do not rename the file, do not put the file into a folder)
4. Put your TV on, and go to Settings > Support > System Update > Upgrade from USB
5. The TV will automatically detect that a firmware upgrade file exists on the USB. Click Yes or Ok to continue.
6. Your TV will now reboot and install the firmware. (It might stay at 1% for a while. This is normal. The progress bar will eventually move. DO NOT power off your TV during the firmware update process)
7. Once the firmware installs, your TV will reset to its factory default state.
8. Change your country to SA and after a few minutes you will see the Showmax and DSTV Now apps.
9. Log in to them and they will work perfectly. (Browsing titles and streaming)

NOTE: The firmware I have provided ONLY works on the following models:

43A6100UW
50A6100UW
55A6100UW

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL THEM ON ANY OTHER HISENSE MODEL.
