[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

@epah and I have warned about how Hisense is with motion processing, I guess this being an OLED tv put me in a hopeful mood, but there it is again.

Some people seem not to notice it, but it gives me motion sickness.

Sorry man, I don’t want to comment much regarding this because everyone seems to be in a happy/excited mood in this thread so out of respect I will keep my comments to myself.

Try messing with the motions settings hopefully you find something that works better for you. Goodluck .

Yeah I know what you mean, I’m being my autistic self again, although my reasoning is that everyone who bought one can still decide if they’re okay with it or not because it’s still within the return window, so I’m being kinder by pointing it out now rather than leaving them to discover it for themselves when it’s too late.

I do however think tolerance for it varies from person to person, just like some people don’t notice the difference between 60hz and 120hz. For people who aren’t sensitive to that kind of thing, it’s probably still a really good deal.

Yeah you make a great point, but I think some people just need to learn the hard way, I have preached more than enough regarding the motion issues and if people chose not to listen then it is on them. I think it is better if they experience them themselves to finally see what I have been talking about. I don’t want to be the cause for buyers remorse in this thread so I am out. No please you guys need to point it out, as you have done before. I'm still happy with mine, trying to see the motion issues so maybe I'm just lucky that my eyes are so old and bad With everything off that I can see so far it is working great for me. Will try Pacific Rim, John Wick& MI: Rogue Nation later this afternoon when we have power so see if I can find something that bugs me.

I have the same issue (but likely much worse) experienced by capd... Only on the Hisense 55" U7H bought 2 weeks ago. Action scenes are an absolute nightmare... A good test is the first scene of Uncharted on Netflix. I can't bear watching more than a few seconds... Extremely 'stuttery' or 'jittery'. Such a shame, as slow moving scenic documentaries are stunning. Return with takealot is logged, with my mind initially made up to upgrade to the A8H... But seems I'll have the same issue using VIDAA

Now deciding whether to actually keep the U7H and invest in a media player, or opt out entirely and get the Sony x85j (currently the same price as the A8H).

Would appreciate any pointers!! Thanks

Unfortunately it’s the TV’s firmware algorithms, a media player won’t help (afaik). It looks like the 55” LG C1 is about to be discounted to R16k soon to make way for the C2, if that’s your budget.

Dude, my parents can’t see it either, and they’re not that old. They can appreciate good colours and the rest though. If you like it, don’t mind me.

You should know that Hisense sells different TVs here under the same model names as the US, so you can’t assume you’re getting the same product you saw reviewed on YouTube.

I don’t want to get into a debate, we have discussed this throughout the year and I don’t want to get people up in arms again, But a media player will not solve your issues, Online reviews are also useless because the USA models don’t use the same processing chips as the ones we get here in SA. You have already logged a return with takealot and if I were you I would keep it that way. Hisense is notoriously bad with motion processing.

If it drops to 16k its in a instant buy. Will probably close the curtains when watching to get rid of the glare.

I wouldn't mind the international u8h either. Seem to be addicted to nits lately, even checking if the new phones have good nits.

If it’s truly the same problem then it’s crazy how 95% of the time things work perfectly, and 5% not. Why would they do this?! I just want a 120Hz panel with no post-processing, FFS.

Firefly as in one of the best Sci-Fi Tv shows ever? If it is that one then 1up for your wife, but I couldn't find it on Netflix.

I could find Firefly Lane, which looks more like a female show

Tested your timestamps and with Dolby Vision IQ I could see speedup and then returning to normal, no slowdowns.

Switching to Dolby Vision Custom with everything switched off it look fine to my eyes, no extra processing that I could see.

This seems very bright and mine was like that in Dolby Vision IQ. Changed it to Dolby Vision Custom which was darker but no motion processing that I could see. Dolby Vision IQ had all the smoothing and other stuff on which I could not switch off. Just checking as it might be the recording that looks super bright.

Might be a bit bright. I was also adjusting exposure of the video, to compensate for the bright room and reflection.

Welcome. Really hoping Apple TV is my saving grace since using the ‘4K SDR’ setting helps significantly. Can’t justify spending double on an LG 65”…
