Don't think anyone on here has the A8G, but capd did post some shots of the settings he's using on the A8H

Decided to go for it as it's only for 10 months or so and I don't need 120Hz at the moment. Still expecting it to blow my mind as I'm currently using a 43-inch 4K Hisense from 2017 that likely has 7+ year old tech in it.

And it's a lot lot bigger, has proper HDR, much better sound (although I do want to get a proper soundbar later) and a better smart TV system that supports Plex means I'll be able stream from my PC to it via WiFi. I think I'm going to love it.

Wonder if the A8G and A8H use the same processor? That may be a reason for going for the A8H, regardless of whether gaming or not. But yes, if processing isn't an issue, then the +-R5k extra for the A8H is probably not worth it.

Struggled to find information about how they differ. But anyways, I'm just getting this as a temp thing while I save up and wait for some hopefully cracking new OLEDs from Samsung/Sony/LG come Black Friday hopefully.

No they don't, the A8G still uses the Novatek one
 
Received the A8G yesterday and yeah, it may not be LG, but it's still OLED and I'm comparing it to a TV that likely came out in 2016. This thing has certifiably insane visual quality with a shockingly good sound system that'll allow me to hold off on that Samsung soundbar probably until Black Friday.

One major thing that's frustrating is the VIDAA 5.2 system is slow and a bit frustrating at times - considering the Mi TV 4K stick perhaps.

Another weird thing is that it's a 60Hz TV but has "120Hz native panel" proudly emblazoned on the box.

Yeah maybe it "goes" to120Hz only on Hdmi 2.1 inputs?

It's a 120hz TV on ports 3 and 4

A8G is 60Hz.

A8H is 120Hz on 2x the HDMI ports.

I didn’t find VIDAA too bad. Done all the updates? Nonetheless, Apple TV 4K FTW!

Updated to VIDAA 5.2. Don't think the A8G will get 6.0. Interface looks visually fine but there's a fair amount of lag at times, with apps like Plex and DSTV not always working properly.

The A8G still uses the Quad Core/NT72671D Processor which is not a great processor
