Cheers. Just played it through the file manager and it was fine. So need to check which Kodi version works correctlyMight show if the media is indeed encoded with DV

Yeah those will be maybe 1 somewhere 400km away from the nearest town.Incredible has some insane deals on TV's currently. Not sure if they're demo models, if so then the oleds are a no go. 65x90j for R7300, 65 LG CX for R12k.
At the risk of being completely wrong, give Emby a try. I've had success with Emby playing files that Plex struggled with when I decided to leave Kodi. This was a couple of years ago and your mileage may vary.Interesting. Tried Plex as well. Plex and Kodi seem to have issues with mkv and HDR, mp4's are fine. And playing mkv's through a file manager is fine. Probably the android versions and Synology not properly transcoding or whatever .
So it might have to do with my Android Box as Lupus suggested and/or the apps.At the risk of being completely wrong, give Emby a try. I've had success with Emby playing files that Plex struggled with when I decided to leave Kodi. This was a couple of years ago and your mileage may vary.
Yes, mi stick 4k, the mi box second gen.So it might have to do with my Android Box as Lupus suggested and/or the apps.
I used Plex on the TV Os and it worked, which is VIDAA OS, but it is a modified Plex and very limited and has issues. Kodi is not supported by VIDAA OS. VIDAA is also full of junk.
Anyways, I would prefer to keep on using Kodi though, but it seems to have issues with MKV files with HDR content, or maybe it is DV files and a combination of the Android Box Ematic 4K Ultra HD.
I am now going to try convert a DV MKV file to DV MP4 using ffmpeg / mp4muxer and see if that works. If not I guess I am stuck with using the VIDAA OS to play all the HDR content.
Are there any Android Boxes that support DV (licenses?)? I would think it is the TV that you rely on.
What Android boxes do you guys use for the DV or HDR10+ content etc.?
Cheers. Looks like I will just have to bite the bullet and get another one.... /sigh . Was hoping for something with an ethernet port as my wifi sucks.Yes, mi stick 4k, the mi box second gen.
Yeah that is the downside to themCheers. Looks like I will just have to bite the bullet and get another one.... /sigh . Was hoping for something with an ethernet port as my wifi sucks.
Which why I went with the Ematic. Obviously back then I had no knowledge of the technicalities of HDR.Yeah that is the downside to them![]()
Nah apparently it doesn't, the angels they are no coalescing on your eyesMeh. Too much effort. Got the mi box 2nd gen and will see how it goes. The Dolby Vision makes a moerse difference , even on a cheap TV.
Canceled the order. Getting glasses instead.Nah apparently it doesn't, the angels they are no coalescing on your eyes
Mi Gen 2 seems to work great with Kodi and DV support. Movies looks beautiful and even now get HDR on some YouTube videos. Lekker!Nah apparently it doesn't, the angels they are no coalescing on your eyes

I find myself adjusting the colours for every movie. Some of them are very blue, others are very yellow and others very red. I wish there was a way to save more custom profiles as I have 3 or 4 setting I almost always adjust the same. Same for Contrast, adaptive contrast (use sparingly ) and gamma calibration. Some sources are DV + HDR
Some are just DV
On the Ematic you’ll immediately know, because the colours will have this purple and yellow hue to them.
Whith that shyte tv you bought your only option is getting an Apple tv box. Only thing that will make it half decent. Then you just need someone with an iPhone to come over so you could calibrate the colors.I find myself adjusting the colours for every movie.
