The JSC has asked Judge Jansen to go on special leave.
 
Institute for security studies. I also base it on the case dockets i was involved with over 9 years. My area also covered a township.

it would be deemed racist to say that ie xhosa men offend in greater numbers than say venda men. So we just say black (as if that is not racist) and you all get tared with the rapist brush.

So I see saying black people are rapists is not racist as it encompass all of them and does not differentiate between Xhosas and Vendas.

My guess is, a variety of factors are behind the root cause of sexual assault behaviors around the world. I do not think whites/blacks culture endorses rape. If that was the case then rape would be generally acceptable and not condoned by whites/blacks.

I have tried pointing out that it is not a rape culture persay but rather aspects of the culture that contribute towards the high incidence of rape.

If you are interested go and read hoefste 6 cultural dimensions as a means of analysing the cultural aspects

Within white south africa you have many cultural sub groupings and i am sure some would exibit similar aspects if the socio economic factors were the same.

When we blame culture people have a fit yet culture is how you are programed to act and react. Everything you do is determined by your cultural programing.

I actually meant that any attempt to differentiate between the suspects would be deemed even more racist

I read back a few pages to understand the entire conversation and read his post in the context and continuation of his previous posts. That you want to read it in isolation is your problem.

given that the majority of her interactions were more than likely be with victims it was a stupid statement

Great, Genl/Dr Johan Burger used to be my boss at Operational Co-Ordination, before we both left in 2006. Investigating or opening dockets? Just asking not interrogating, sorry I meant interviewing.

I was a reservist so i stared out in patrol and responded to and opened my fair share of rape dockets. In my last 2 years i worked with the detectives as part of a warrent tracing unit. We also got roped in to help get statements and anything else the detectives needed help with prior to handing the case to the prosecutors.

I'm sure she knows the Code of Juducial Conduct, knows wrong/right but her racist nature overwhelmed her. She might have just committed a career suicide.

Good, knowledge is power. I mentioned Dr Burger, he had a running battle with Police Management because they had no direct access to raw crime stats. Even when they had backdoor access, they could not use it or refer to it in ISS reports. I will step down from from this discussion with a last request. Have a open and frank discussion, with your Station Commander, if he wants to/will partake in the discussion, how accurate their stats are and how they balance it on CAS/MAS (still the correct acronym?).

Ex reservist, but i know the stats are wrong especially when so many case are not opened or are withdrawn by complainents prior to investigation

I must say that I admire the tenacity of MyBB posters to keep a thread alive. We have digressed so far from the original point. We all actually agree she made a serious mistake, which will cost her, her career. I personally got so caught up in the stats debate, that I totally missed the ball. :cry:
