Petition started to remove judge over rape comments

http://mikesmithspoliticalcommentary.blogspot.co.za/2016/05/judge-mabel-jansen-is-100-correct.html

comments on that article goes a bit hairy, but yes - they are pushing the wrong buttons

What utter tripe.

I don't disagree, but it raises a valid point..

Nobody is asking whether the judge is actually speaking the truth based on her caseload experience...

Because... she isn't.

What about her case load experience would change that?

Well she is claiming her comments where specifically made in the context of her case load......

So its entirely relevant and important to the discussion.

Yes, I'm asking what about her case load would make what she said true?

Well if 99% of her cases are related to black individuals and raping of women then her comments are entirely true aren't they, in context of her case load?

Her comments started out as comments regarding her black colleagues and went downhill from and there's nothing in reading those comments that suggests she's basing it on her caseload experience.

She's a judge so she gets to see the worst of the worst every day, you don't base your view of an entire race on that. If she was a judge in the UK her caseload would get to see white murderers and rapists and pedophiles everyday. Would she then form the same opinion of white people, that they are all vile murderers and racists?

Yup, am not sure how these comments below could relate to her caseload...

Jansen added: 'I still have to meet a black girl who was not raped at about 12. I am dead serious.

'In their culture a woman is there to pleasure them. Period,'

I'm not in any way shape or form condoning her posts, and yes there is racism invovled..

But it does worry me that nobody is actually talking about some of her points, because some possibly do have some merit and should be discussed.

Not taking sides here nor condoning any comments from any party... but the timing of this is extremely suspicious.

This private exchange took place in May 2015.

Why is it only being raised now?

Well if 99% of her cases are related to black individuals and raping of women then her comments are entirely true aren't they, in context of her case load?

No, not even close. Even if the majority of her cases have black individuals in the dock that doesn't mean there's a 'black culture' (wtf does that even mean?) that condones it. Much less to support the following claim from her: "Murder is also not a biggy. And gang rapes of baby, daughter and mother a pleasurable pass time". She literally says "the black people"...

There's a yawning gulf of a difference between the majority of the rapists being black (makes sense from a demographic/socionoecomic perspective) and saying it's part of blacks' culture, which is what she's saying.

Read that first part of her post again, she's referring to her colleagues and then saying how in their culture a women is there to pleasure them, it's an absolute right, and a woman's consent is not required. Again, nothing to do with her cases.

So there are sweeping generalisations at play and racism yes... and its wrong, but it doesn't make some of her points potentially valid in a way.....

At the very least they should be investigated or discussed

Which of her points have merit? I think most of this thread does deal with the merit or lack thereof of her comments.

Why not now? You guys will try to poke holes and undermine any racial utterance aimed at blacks. I wonder if you gave Qwabe the same benefit of the doubt.

Schutte claimed she laid a complaint back then already but it went nowhere.

I honestly wouldn't trust Schutte as far as she could be thrown.....

If she laid the complaint then the JSC should have record of it.

Someone brought it up on page 1 yes it is possible Gillian only released this now to take advantage of the current racism frenzy sweeping the country.
