Quick search reveals plenty of older Rio users have problems with timing belt. I'm no expert but I thought that was the fan belt? I threw out one of those once on my way to Pretoria. No other damage that time. giyf

Timing belt?
Well not gonna rule it out, but according to the mechanic, when my engine is cranked,
He sees pulses indicating my belt is fine,
Also as i mentioned, just fitted a guard over it to prevent any damage to exactly this,
Could that still be, well don't know, but initially thought fuel pump, so I'm really not sure anymore,
I did even pm that Ifan guy on mybb who selling his picanto, if he can send me what his guage cluster looks like in the "on" position
Would confirm what i think it is.....
Not the same thing.
Timing belt is cambelt, it turns the camshaft.
Fan belt normally turns aircons and alternators and water pumps and power steering pumps and sometimes even fans.
If you search for no start diagnosing there is a list that includes petrol pumps, carburettor, pressure test (surprisingly simply), spark test, voltage checks, and manifold inspection. Until you have performed these tests with a mechanic or by yourself there is no knowing and blaming it on immobiliser at this stage just seems fanciful. If it is the immobiliser a Kia fault diagnosing machine should tell you that instantaneously.
Did you mess with the crankshaft position sensor at all?<snip>
Initially when i had my car, when the petrol was 1/4 full I'd get "hunting" revs,
Engine would come on but revs would not stabilize and when you try drive the engine would cut out,</snip>
can i give you a old fools way of testing,
take your can of deo ( axe, solo, etc) get your gf / partner / friend to crank the car, while you spray deo into the air intake ( pop out your air filter)
the butane / alcohol in the spray will be combustible, and your car should splutter a bit, if it does, then its fuel issue, if not, then its electrical / timing / immobilizer

Isn't that dangerous? I mean wont it catch fire?
I'm willing if you say its safe,
And when you say sputter? What do you mean exactly?
At this point that's all it does, will it sound difrent?
Also before somebody suggest push start/jump start tried that already when i was stranded on the freeway,

Hell no, the electrician checked exactly that
I did only change throttle position sensor as that's what i was advised to turn off my mil
Crazy question I know...but did you try reading the manual?
It normally tells you which lights should come on and then if you see others instead what they mean.
Dude, you must really learn to fiddle, does wonders.
