Planetside 2 (Free To Play)

Wow, I just jumped in for a bit and it looks great, steep learning curve. I only have a core2duo e7200 (clocked) 4GB ram (3 really as its XP) and a 4870 ati card and it works for me well...got most on minimum but still real pretty. I heard shadows were the killer on performance so turn them off (down).
Its like Tribes but with lots o ppl playing :)
I hopped in some turret and killed 5 tanks then hopped in some armoured thing and whacked a few aircraft. Cant wait to stay longer and try more out.
Is there a my bb clan thing? Im NC (blue folk?) on Matherson (just coz ppl said performance was better). See you around.

Funny you should mention Tribes, that was the last time I experience this much fun in combat. All it needs is spinfusers and rocket jumps and we are sorted :)

I do not know who created a MyBB outfit as there is one already when I tried. Wish whoever did it would speak up so we could join.

Hello, look at the date of those clips. It is from beta, guess you over react too much when you get owned by the NC?

Either way, there will always be people trying to cheat, sony already stated they will not allow ANY mods, just matter of time to see how they handle it. If you uninstall every game at the second yoy suspect cheating, you will not have any games left.

Nope, when you empty an entire clip of AA and they all hit Shown by the X and a flyer makes a 180 and own a turret with 2 shots and the death window indicate that the flyer is at 100% health you know something is wrong. As a spotter I noticed how people follow others through walls and head shot them. The clips might be from the beta days but from what I have seen the last couple of days makes me believe they are up and running with em cheats.
 
For those interested, there is a small band of us (currently 6) running the New Conglomerate on the Ceres server.
Levels and experience vary, but fun is fun! Which tag do you add for people to add as a friend? The profile logon, or the character you play? Anyhoo, I'll add that and anyone who wants to join is welcome. Skype is necessary....

Onto the battles, I've encountered some hackers myself, but fortunately they are not the majority and plenty of enjoyment can still be had.

I used to just flip between the Heavy Assault (for taking out armour) and the Infiltrator (picking off camping players in a base), but recently had quite a blast as the medic. There was an assault on a Power Plant (owned by us) by what seemed like EVERYONE!! :D Being part of an assault of such a large scale was awesome. Day turned to night and bullets and shells lit up the ground. When I first started I thought this would be a very short-lived game for me, but as I experienced larger and larger battles, I started enjoying it more.

My most memorable experience was rolling with my squaddies, where we were almost pushed to the Warpgate on Indar. 30+ tanks and aircraft formed a convoy and rolled from point to point, obliterating any and all resistence...... ah yes, good times!!

Ask in the BF3 thread they are in there most of the time
 
If they would just stop rebooting the servers so dam much.

And yeah I am back, can not help it. Even with its "issues" its still the best game for me right now :D

Well at least SOE is on the hacker issues, surely you have seen the comments from smed himself (and this is their ceo) :

I have read loads about the hacking in Planetside 2. They are there, it is real and at times it does "kill" the game. Lucky enough the maps are huge and you dont run into the hacker all the time. I seriously hope SOE actually do something about it tough cause if they don't everyone will revert to said aimbots to even out the game.

Well they are, i played last night and every 5 minutes there were these global "system" broadcasts about "3rd party tools not allowed, you will be banned " and "We are watching you! [and the name of a GM watching]" .

This was on server Woodman, i assume they got people monitoring things on every server.

As all good assaulters do :D
Sadly I've also come to realise that with the latency I have, I am effectively a free kill for those closer to the server. I've seen my gun fire on a target standing still, staring at me, only to have him kill me and have no damage.

If you're not in any specific squad, you're welcome to join our small outfit bud. Vary between about 3 and 9 in the squad.
