PlayStation 4 console officially announced

I hate long articles this early in the morning. Who's got the bullet point version?

I was hoping the PS4 would be able to do 4K.

If Sony wants it to last as long as the PS3 did (7 years), they'd have to go 4K.

Doesn't the PS3 already have 4k support? Besides the future is not 4k it's 8k

Not sure, but either way - it's got to support Ultra HD. 8K would be awesome!

A lot of devices, camera's, TV's even YouTube already have support for UHD.

"PS3 games backwards compatibility doesn’t appear to be native though. This means users might have to re-purchase their old games."

If this turns out to be true, you've lost a sale right there Sony

Backwards compatibility of games will be ensured by Gaikai providing cloud services to ensure the back catalogue of games is available for PS4 and beyond.

This kinda sucks, No?

Most people don't play their old games anyway so I don't think it's a big deal if there isn't backwards compatibility support.

Looks like a nice upgrade from the PS3, awesome!

Definitely buying one. Forked out R6 500 for the PS3 at launch, hopefully the price tag is not so steep this time round.

The specs on this machine is freakin insane! One worth considering. And the fact that you can use your tablet as a controller already takes the Wii U head on.
