Used Afrihost for my ADSL line for 2 years. Terrible support. Only scripted responses.
I don't mind paying more for good service, but in their case you pay more and get lesser service than Telkom.

It's been a steady decline over 10 years. I should know. I have moved products away from them reducing my dependency on them by 80% over the last two years. No one bothered to check why.

Im on the cheapest package fibre... Everything works like a bomb... Never had issues. Although while on the data packages previously had my data disappear... Now we are happy buddies. Dankie Afrihost hoor julle?

I currently use their APN with no issues, used to be a DSL customer but moved to Vox when fibre became available as their prices were much cheaper, and network seems to be a bit better

No complaints from the Afrihost mobile sides, customer support is standard for any telco company I've dealt with

I haven't had a single problem with the 10mb premium uncapped openserve line since installed 6 months ago

Been with Afrihost for a number of years and have only had good service and value for money.

My ADSL was with Afrihost for 6 years. Never had issues it was always a Telkom issue. Clientzone is the best.

Pricing is very good. I am also using their mtn data package. Priced very well.

The fact you are struggling with your speed so much is not good at all. Have you done any traceroute tests at all?
No trace routes so far but speed tests at regular intervals.

I get 2ms pings which is great and I was able to max my 10mb line... Now my speed for download hovers at the 16mb mark...

I'll happily do some trace routes of that will help resolve the issue.

I get a bit worried that maybe I am super lucky, because I see a lot of negative comments about Afrihost and I have been with them for years, with ADSL and Mobile Data and just recently upgraded to Fibre, and really have to rate them as the best ISP ever! their customer service is unrivalled and I on a few occasions when I needed urgent help and called them (take note I rather use webchat or ticket service than calling any call centre) they always called me back! There was this one time where this guy on Whatsapp help really overdid the troubleshooting when I knew what the problem was from the outset, but I felt bad telling him how to do his job so I just followed all the (unnecessary) steps until he realised what I already knew was the issue, but that was an isolated incident. Im very happy with them and dont see myself leaving ever :)

We are doing a forum survey on how happy subscribers are with their ISP, and it will be great if you can rate Afrihost based on value-for-money, network quality, and general service satisfaction.

Also please tell us what Afrihost does well, and where they can improve, by positing in this thread.
I was previously at Evonet (Old Crystal web) and what a joke. It was so confusing as they did not even know who the ISP was. After disconnecting me for 3 days with no communication and way of communicating to them, I turned to Afrihost. Since joining Afrihost is has been such a pleasure. They sorted me out quickly and within a day I had internet. I canceled my Telkom DSL line as I am just fed up with Telkom and the pathetic service you receive. Moved everything over to Afrihost. Afrihost gave me such perfect instructions to cancel my with Telkom and it worked. I am Telkom free and happy Afrihost customer.

Ever since MWEB started their throttling of Premium clients, I ducked. I'd been with them for years, and was reasonably happy, but once I got to Afrihost I felt alot more at home. I've felt a noticeable slip in the support quality over the years, but I've actually had nothing but a good resolution from them.

Would be cool to hear something from Gian again. He's been quiet and it looks like not much exciting has gone on there. Perhaps the CEO is working on a side business these days?

With my voice product with Afrihost too, I guess I'm an all in guy

Hey guys, thank you for the feedback, I can see a lot of you have been struggling here and this is far from what we want at all. We pride ourselves on our support and when it doesn't meet standards, it isn't great to hear. While of course we are happy to hear some of you have had a good experience, both Afrinatic and myself are here to assist and we would really love to help each of you with your issues to get them resolved. Please feel free to drop either of us a PM and we will do our best to make sure your issues are attended to as quickly as possible. We really don't ever want you to struggle.

Sometime last year I called Afrihost to twll them I had no connectivity... they kept telling me everything is finw on their side and they were not bothered by what I was telling them. I had to call Vuma and log a call only to find out that there was a line fault. Last week similar thing happened.. speed test was showing 20/20 but internet connection was extremely slow. Once again I called Afrihost and they were not useful at all. They again told me there is nothing they can do.. all seems well on their side. It was only when I phoned Vuma that I learnt of the network issues as a result of loadshedding. Bottom line is that the customer service at Afrihost is very bad and I would not recommend them. I was previously with Vox and the service there was awesome.. unfortunately when I changed houses I changed service providers.. big mistake

I have the cheapest uncapped bundle with Afrihost and no issues at all. Thank you Afrihost!

Been with them for years. They’re helpful. I don’t really ever have issues, however when I have, it’s been annoying when it’s been in the evening as support isn’t 24/7 and the sms for call back is useless as they only call back like 12 hours later...

Been with them for about a year and a half on their Rain fixed LTE, have not had any problems so cannot comment on their customer service, but from the intial sign-up until now everything is as they said it would be.
So I am fairly happy.

Pathetic service, including the resident company representative who is too lazy to read PM's when offering to "help". What happens out of sight of the forum threads is the true "service". Useless.

Smacks of arrogance and pure lip service as is evident from the responses in this thread.

My ticket to support dated 22/01 (nearly 30 days ago! ) detailing abysmal UL/DL speeds , in spite of numerous emails and promises to assist, and a pvt PM to AfriNatic remains unattended.

Afrihost went to the dogs after being taken over by MTN. It was never again the same company after they left the MTN stable. I suspect Gian and Co made so much money there was no longer the drive to excel.
