I'm not surprised by the amount of people that says Afrihost support quality has dropped over the years. The worst is that I'm paying for a 10 MB line which has now dropped to just under 7 Mbps and no amount of support can get it fixed. I have started to investigate other ISPs. Very cool ideas will get my business soon due to their high ratings and rave reviews on MyBroadband.

@MirageF1:
Not sure which products are included. I've always used it on the ADSL package, but I've looked now under my mobile data pakage and it is available there as well.

It is under "Edit package"
Then you should see a "Pause" option.

I've added a screenshot.
Can't recall seeing this option on the cust portal for wireless product, or is it just for fiber?

yeah they're ok. except for that whole wireless debacle where they charged me for their useless modem.

Respectfully, you can't vote an ISP down for your own failure to read the T's & C's properly. Also, before you sign up for anything, communicate via email or any chat platform so that you have a paper trail in case there is ambiguity in the matter.

I’m on fibre package, family on adsl & use their apn on multiple sims too. Overall.. I’m happy with service I’ve gotten over the many years..

fibre install is problematic but this is partially estate issues and but once I moved to a better estate I was up and running fast. Can’t say I have issues.

Adsl has issues but being from a telecoms background and having worked at Telkom I know where the congested exchanges were so kinda know who to blame and when.

If there is just one thing I wished they’d offer.. family packages. From mobile service to multi home with contended data.. adsl gave the latter but as everyone moves to fibre I miss this.

I use Afrihost and i have been a a fairly long time... but i have to be honest. the minute they changed their support system and how you get in touch with a human things went downhill... that was when things went from good to bad.

Nope. Not for Fixed Wireless. As I suspected.....

I have had excellent service from Afrihost. Their call centre help people are competent and friendly. I use their fixed LTE service and while their (Rain's) speed has decreased a bit, I am still satisfied.

Afrihost customer support service has declined over the years especially after hours support for ADSL issues. Their data storage on their server for customers using an Afrihost email address is frustratingly small, only a couple of hundred megabytes.

Lack of direct communication with a help desk agent. Online ticketing and fault reporting is pathetic.
Aside from that I've had no massive issues with the quality of service with the connectivity.

All nit picking.I don`t have problems with Afrihost perse, but with Telkom who cannot provide landline for me to upgrade my adsl contract with Afrihost.

Have fixed LTE and have some speed issues. But that is caused by RAIN who are busy installing more towers (so they say) Day time speeds are way down. At night, not so bad.
Their customer services with me though have been outstanding.
Even though I have some speed issues at present, it is being looked into and will hopefully be sorted out soon.

Been with Afrihost for 4years now, no complaints, good helpdesk, never any line issues, no unnecessary throttling, or shaping all round great ISP to be with

I had signed up with Afrihost since January 2018 for fibre connection , they Said Vumatel will do everything in 2 weeks , but i am still waition for FTTx , no response no follow up and giving stories when i speak to them.

Also they had given me a wreless modem which i dont use since 6 months but they dont care and just deduct the money , i never had this bad experience with any ISP . Worst Ever.

Previously had an ADSL line and upgraded to fiber about 8 months ago.
We are very happy with our uncapped fiber service from Afrihost.
No major problems, great user friendly client zone!

Value for money is fair.
Whenever support is required though, my hopes of a painless experience gets shattered.

We are doing a survey on how happy subscribers are with their ISP, and it will be great if you can rate Afrihost based on value-for-money, network quality, and general service satisfaction.

Also please tell us what Afrihost does well, and where they can improve, by positing in this thread.[/QUOTE

I am with Afrihost now for almost 10 years.
The products they offer are really value for money. Infortunately I dont have Fiber yet because the infrastructure is not there yet. Hopefully soon.
I am using more then one product from Afrihost. From ADSL to mobile data. ADSL issues were all Telkom related and Afrihost did sort that out within a reasonable time.
Mobile data is just running smooth from day 1. Never ever had a problem.
What I like mostly is the Clientzone function from where you can manage all your products. Upgrade, downgrade, Topups, new business is extremely easy and quick. I have referred many people to Afrihost and they are just as happy as I am.
What can they do better? On the Tech side I am sure they are running with the big players. Client service is good but I feel that they sometimes neglect to stay on a case to ensure the customer is updated with the progress and to escalate the severity when the problem is not fixed within a set time limit.
I will stay with them untill they or another ISP offers me Fibre the quickest.

My brother just signed up for a data package with Afrihost. He couldn't get hold of them when phoning but online chat bots/Filipinos/Indians and call back got him quick replies and someone contacting him back.

Verdict: Call Centre is not useful and could have lost them a client. Fortunately he is patient and was happy with the Call Back and Chat bots/people.

The only complain I have with Afrihost is there is NO roll over of monthly capped unused FIBRE data as with the ADSL data. With them for over 10 years now!
