Hey Hey

OpenWeb Gold 384
Performance = 5 – Excellent (much better than expected)
Support = 5
Value for money = 5
Overall satisfaction = 5

Been with OpenWeb now for very close on 1 year and can happily report zero issues experienced, apart from the Great Cable Outages. Support has been not needed, apart from changing backbones last year... and then it was almost instant. Everything has just worked for me. I chug along daily and cannot complain at all.

How can OpenWeb improve to make me a happier customer ?
Give me a 1Mb line and uncapped for what I am paying now for 384 :D

1Mb Openweb Gold

Been on Openweb's uncapped for just under two years now.

Performance: Depends on the backbone (Gold network) and whether issues arose, but generally 5/5.
Support: Always someone on the other side to answer my emails, even at 12pm on a Sunday night. 5/5.
Value for money: 5/5, the premium paid for superior service was always worth it.
Overall satisfaction: In the hope that all backbones are always working as expected, 5/5.
I don't know what OW can do more to make us happier. They already do so much for us :)

Give me aftherhours uncapped for R750pm and make the business hours line speed limit of 1mb.

Been with them for years, Excellent service all round,

Almost no down time (hardly ever)... Can you believe that?

Hey there,

OpenWeb Gold 4MB account user
Performance = 5 – Excellent (much better than expected)
Support = 5
Value for money = 5
Overall satisfaction = 5

Been with them since 2006 when I first got ADSL. At that time I only had a 30GB local only IS account. As the years went by I eventually moved over to them completely as my primary ISP. The fact that I can choose from a range of backbones is what makes OW really excel in my book in comparison with other ISPs.

I'd say they could make me a happier customer by:

1) Allowing gold subscribers to pay less for their accounts per month whenever a special comes round. It pains me to know that someone else out there can get a new gold account for R648, while I need to keep on paying R738 just because I'm an old subscriber.

Therefore, I'd propose that if you have been a gold subscriber for at least 2 years that you start qualifying to get discount per month. I know this is probably wishful thinking and Keoma would probably never approve of this, but hey, what's stopping us then from cancelling our current gold account and signing up for a new one when a special comes round ?

2) Create a new variant of the gold account, something entitled "Gold burst" or "Gold plus" where 4mb gold account users with a 10mb line (like myself) can get 10mb speeds over weekends from 7pm Friday evening to 7am Monday morning. I'd be willing to pay R750 - R800 a month for an account like that, don't know about the rest of the OW subscribers.

Something similar can also be done for the silver accounts :)

Other than that, I'm really happy with Openweb and will remain with them for quite some time to come :D

My primary account at home is an OpenWeb uncapped account. I love it. Very low contention. Switches over to a different provider if there is an outage. Works like an uncapped account should work. Great personal service and prompt tech support.

performance (speed and latency) = To notch. The account performs as advertised and to the best of it's technical capability.
support = excellent. The support is available through many channels and responds very quickly.
value for money = One of the best ISPs in SA for value.
overall satisfaction = very satisfied and would heartily recommend to others.
Improvement = Keep growing the business and adding more excellent staff and products!

Took the 384 uncapped R149 offer at the end of December.
Very happy with speeds. Most of time nzb downloads run at 100%.
Support excellent!

I use the special 1mb standard uncapped for R229. I generally get 105Kb/sec from local downloads, so I'm pretty happy with them. My only problem is that Youtube often has to buffer at 360p... not cool.

Performance: Good - I don't have many problems there.
Value for money: Excellent considering the other packages out there. There is always room for improvement, however. I think Telkom will be responsible for the next price drop through a reduction in IPC pricing.
Support: The staff are pretty friendly and Keoma is always willing to help. However I called about an issue with Youtube not loading and was told the port would be reset within 30 mins. I still get the issue, so no fix there.

I would give a solid 8/10 for Openweb. Good value for money, decent performance and a few niggles here and there :)

I have a 4MB uncapped and am very happy. I know at any point if I have any issues I can contact Keoma via e-mail and my issue is resolved within half an hour. I don't know of any company where you can mail the CEO directly and receive personal attention to help resolve your issues. Can't see myself moving to any other ISP.

Openweb Gold Uncapped

Really happy with everything openweb has to offer me, except for one issue.

Every now and then I seem to get some weird lag when playing on international servers. I have isolated the issue to the dslheaven network I believe. When it does happen, I usually switch over to axxess prepaid as backup.

otherwise, no unrealistic shaping to contend with.. its great!

Good job Openweb!

I have been using Openweb gold 1mb uncapped and was with them before on std uncapped when I had a 384Kb/s line. I can truly say their service goes above and beyond. They respond quickly if their is an issue (which is hardly ever). I have never had any problems with their billing department. (Which from reading on this forum is a big problem with some other ISP's). Gold is a bit more expensive than other uncapped accounts but it's worth it. Overall line quality is excellent. I really can't fault them on anything.

Openweb Gold 4Mb

Performance = 4. I say 4 because its difficult to ascertain how much better or worse one ISP is compared to another. At first it didnt seem all that different to Mweb, but now in our new house, it seems much faster. Skype in particular is much improved. But, is that because we moved house? Openweb seemed the same as Mweb in our old house.
Support = 5. Would rate higher if I could. Not often the CEO of a company himself responds to your query, AND within 24 hours. Truly impressive.
Value for money = 4. Its a little more expensive, but I think its worth it.
Overall Satisfaction = 5. No plans to move.

How can they improve? Hell I dont know! Not much room to improve until LLU!

Always had great service from Keoma.

In fact I sent them an email today to ask about specials. I had a reply within 10-15 minutes each time from Keoma.

Keoma's service is outstanding however I cannot comment on their call centre as I've never had to use them.

I'm definitely switching to Gold when they have another special!

What can I say? Openweb has been great. Keep up the good work! The only thing I have a problem with is an exchange that is congested - wish Keoma could work his magic there!

I'm on a 4mb OpenWeb uncapped account. The account is super awesome after hours and on weekends. No lag... No stuttering on youtube and my download speeds are top notch. During office hours is where I tend to notice some issues with youtube especially..but I guess it is to be expected... Overall an excellent product also Keoma offers great personal service and prompt tech support.
Performance (speed and latency) = Excellent...
Support = Prompt and Concise
Value for money = Pretty good...
Overall satisfaction = I get what I pay for and a slice more Happily satisfied and would recommend to friends.
How they can Improve... Well I guess its not entirely dependent on the ISP.. BUT I would like a at least a 24mbps connection by year end... Obviously at consumer prices... Maybe also get a locally hosted paid NewsServer..

Openweb is really good, it out performs my TelkomInternet account, user support is really good, you get a reply within minutes. Keep up the good work OpenWeb.
