I'm having issues on my 20mbps ADSL2+ line in Northriding (011 704 xxxx) where HTTP sits at 70kb/sec for about a minute and then spikes to 1,900kb/s for 10 seconds - and repeats. Torrents (hgh seeded) on my unshaped connection are only going at between 100kb/sec and 600kb/sec. Speedtests are shakey and spikey.

Telkom manage my line :(

What is the easiest way to get a port reset without phoning?
Is there a way to do it online at all?

Ah I didn't know that - thanks !

What does it actually do ?

Great - thanks.

Will give it a go!

Or join Afrihost and reset your port yourself online through the Clientzone on their website. And best have them manage your line.

It's weird but my Afrihost clientzone doesn't seem to have that functionality (Tweak My Line) anymore.
Is there any reason why some have it and others don't ?
My line is also being managed by Afrihost

Yes I have. Rputer was off for 30 min and it still shows no Internet connection.

Probably a router/line fault then. Apparently turning off for 20 - 30 minutes does not perform a port reset, only a new IP. Apologies.

Have you looked at your router’s logs? It could be an authentication problem.

I tried it with two different isp accounts and still no connection. It would normally be red if there is no connection, but it does not even light up at all.
