Not a bad price. Only 1k more than what I paid for mine in 2021.
Yesterday I ordered the Headwolf D500 from Security and More, after reading this thread, as it seems what I need (watch TV when the lights go out).
I had ordered and paid for an Eishbox 426 (Sinetech) online. I had to contact them as there seemed to be no progress with the order. I was told that there was no stock and was refunded.
I did a little research and there appears to be an identical model branded 'Solarix Ultra Energy 500W Portable Power Station'.

Unfortunately, I did not receive the D500.
There was a 'stock control problem'. Therefore, my order could not be fulfilled.
I ordered a Rentech PPS750, which came today.
Charging it at the moment and will test later today, while watching the cricket.

These look better than the older gen River. LFP and I think it has UPS functionality. Only 1 year warranty though.
I may have found the Shenzhen manufacturer of the LifePo4 power stations branded as Headwolf / Solarix. If anyone has a business that trades in this kind of stuff maybe arrange a batch of these and advertise here? I've been researching a bit and they seem to be good units and also seem to be sold out.

Yeah, these new Bluetti units were released in mid 2022 and are Lifepo4. The Ecoflow devices are based on NMC chemistry developed in 2019. The new Ecoflow devices coming in March will have 2000+ cycles.

You got to love this:
To be honest, arguments over battery chemistry might be a little overstated. With the original 1,000WHr Delta, for example, it would take 800 full discharge cycles before the battery’s capacity would drop to 80 percent. That’s similar to what you would see in a laptop or phone, which you would actually charge and discharge daily or every other day.
But most people are unlikely to give a portable power station that kind of a workout unless you’re permanently off the grid. Realistically, it’ll sit around until it’s used for a camping trip or occasional power outages.

Cape Union Mart has the Jackery 500 and 1000 Watt hour models. They only offer 500 charge cycles. My Bluetti 500 Watt model allows for over a 1000 charge cycles on Li NMC.
I'd go for a larger Bluetti 1000W model with LiFePO if such was available.

Because one has to admit, our axpert + hubble batteries is not the prettiest sight or really portable. Flip, had to load mine on a moving trolley, going up hill like a hobo, to get to the neighbour to charge the batteries due to a weekend long outage. Not fun!

I am retired now, so possibly the mind doesn't think 'out of the box' as well these days.

When upgrading the River Pro firmware do you have to have the unit charged to 100%? I upgraded mine with the max charge level set to 85% and the unit fully charged to 85%. Hope that won't cause any issues.

Ecoflow re-confirmed that the River 2 should hit SA in March 2023. The Delta 2 will only get here in May 2023 which is sad since the Delta 2 looks to be the one to get after they dropped extended battery support on the River 2 line.
It also appears as if they won't be bringing in any more River Pro extended batteries. So if you wanted to pick one up and can find stock it might be a good idea to grab one while you still can.

How do you guys get around the long extension cables you need to ensure everything is plugged in? I live in a 2 bedroom flat, but in order for me to even consider this option of a portable trolley system I'll need extension cables in each room. It would look like a complete mess I would imagine. How are you guys getting around this? Running trunking up the walls? Just having the cables lying on the floor?
You don't. Or at least, I don't. These power stations are not really meant to be for more than one or two devices at a time. So put it by your PC or TV and that's the device that it services. With Ecoflows you can move them around pretty easily though, so just unplug and move it.
My bro bought one of the Geewiz systems for like R17K (3KVA with 2 x 200Ah batteries) and he has his TV, AV receiver and subwoofer, laptop and PC and router connected to it. Problem is, he has to run multiple long power extensions.
If I were to buy one of these units there is no way I'm buying it just to keep my TV on. It has to keep more than just a TV running otherwise I'll lose my sanity.
