Portable Power Stations

The pricing is not terrible, but it's not great either. EU pricing on the River 2 Max is 600 Euro, so ya, it's basically in line with that. Wish it was more in line with dollar pricing...

So 500w/512wh Ecoflow vs 1000w/768wh Bluetti (with the loud proprietary charger). Decisions decisions.

Bliksem.

Hmmm think I will wait for my Kool 1Kw.

Buying direct from Ecoflow always comes at a premium. Wait for other people to put up their prices. The Delta 1 1300 was R25k from Ecoflow and you could get it for R22k if you shopped around.

Was hoping for better, especially on the Rivers. They basically just upgraded the batteries and removed some stuff/nerfed the old model. The old River was better in many ways.

And people ask me why I am buying a PPS just for my fridge:

No Eskom from 4 this morning, only came back at 14h00 it seems.
The problem is that what happens when your PPS malfunctions and you dont notice it?

I am looking for an IOT probe that I can leave in freezer in order to monitor temperature and send notifications when the temperature reaches x.

Not really R1500 off, but R800 - R1000 off depending on where you buy it from. Still, a decent enough deal for anyone on the fence.
yeah I am considering it.
I wonder how good this place is for warranty.

PPS problems I will notice, have CCTV at home as well as power monitors. That is how I know my power at home only came back now.

Sadly can't use anything WiFi/Zigbee as the enclosed space will block the signal, so stuck with leading the thermostat wire via the door unless you wanna drill into the fridge and sika flex it.

Edit: Actually heading over to IoT Section to find out if 433hz would work.

How do you monitor power? is there a simple plug and play solution?

I have Sonoff POW's & HassIO Virtual PC (Use to be on a Pi 4)
Just use a VPN to access my HassIO Dashboard and have a email-2-SMS service for notifications.

If you trust China crap you can run Sonoff in cloud mode and use their phone app. My IoT's don't have internet access.

Use an old Android phone that still has a good battery. Install Tasker and set it it up to monitor power outage and restore and message you accordingly.

Nice, not bad. Pity no River 2 Pro......wondering if the Max will be sufficient for my needs, i.e. running 100W tv or during works hours, my laptop and 2 monitors.....

I see from their rep's comments on that post that the River 2 Pro should be here in May, bit surprising they're not all available now given how long it's been since the overseas launch.

Should be fine.
TV 200wh
Laptop and monitors probably 250wh.
I did this pretty easily with a 518wh pps.
