No I mean the general trend month on month and, more importantly, year on year. What's happening minute-to-minute is so very very irrelevant. Improving EAF isn't going to happen in days. It's going to take years... so how is current-day Eskom doing on that front?

I mean after all Eskom was under that moron ADR last year this time. So I assume Eskom is improving now relative to what it was like under ADR now that he's gone? After all he was the problem right?

So, month on month and year on year is EAF improving?

I am very confident as is minister Sputla that we will end of this year with a higher EAF than we did at the end of 2022
Kusile 3 units will be online, Both Koebergs will be on and then there is Karpowership that is readily available and deployable in 26 days to 2 months

Nope. Koeberg Unit 1 is scheduled to come back on 3 November and the other unit is going off on the 8th of November.

As far as I'm aware Koeberg unit 1 is coming back online after a 71 day delay in it's refurbishment and unit 2 is going offline for its turn. Both units will not be online for any significant period until next year sometime. You'll have an extremely short-lived overlap there. It's not relevant to EAF until middle of next year at the earliest.

3 units at Kusile will be back online by cutting environmental corners, after a chimney duct collapse caused by a weird combo of Eskom's incompetence and government's corruption when constructing the station in the first place.

Those are something that is a consistent non-variable dent in EAF currently though. We can reasonably expect, when the Kusile units are added to the grid, that Kusile's EAF will go up. This can be set aside when it comes to looking at whether or not Eskom is actually improving day-to-day operations in power stations across the board.

That aside, right now we're seeing month-to-month data without those Kusile units. So we're seeing the EAF of everything else besides those Kusile units. Are we seeing a month-to-month improvement there (i.e. is the way in which Eskom manages these power stations actually improving)?

Only 1 of the koeberg units will be on, cause they need to shut the other down to start it's maintenance

I don't even care that we're up to stage 4/5 from stage 1/3. It's understandable that there will be times where loadshedding levels fluctuate as units collapse and are brought online. I get that and honestly it's largely meaningless. All I want to see is a consistent trend of improvement in EAF month on month. Right now I just don't see that. I see it hovering at pretty much the same level, if not dropping over time.

That tells me that Eskom is not substantially changing the way it operates. A method of operating that clearly hasn't worked for the last near 20 years. There is only one outcome if this continues.
 
Yup Eskom, you'd think they would just keep maintenance low until they could actually get something working out of the 16GW broken right?
