Hi,

Anyone got this working using a wireless connection to your router?

It use to work fine when setting up a pppoe connection from my VM guest (win xp or ubuntu) to my router , but since I got a wireless USB dongle it refuses to connect.

I suspect the problem is not on IP level, "I can ping the host and the router" but rather on a device level??

any advice would be greatly appreciated
Henk

Is making the connection from the host an option?
Then in Network settings (before starting the VM), set it to bridged mode and select the device.

Hi NoLogic001, its not an issue with your VM but rather the fact you can't create a PPPoE session over wireless.

You will have to get a cable to the modem if you want to create PPPoE sessions.

Of course you can

you can only perform pppoe over wireless if your wireless router is fully bridging with the LAN... if it's just routing or natting, then you can't dial PPPoE

hey thanks. Found the same answer on the VM community forums.
And like fragtion said; apparently if you bridge the connection it should work, but in my case it didn't.

Unfortunately cable is not an option.
