Prepaid electricity Android app available

I see they make claim that their app is award winning but I see no reference to any awards? What makes this service so different then? I've been buying electricity on my phone for 5 yrs now.
 
cbrunsdonza From? The last crowd I tried didn't support City of Cape Town only Eskom.

I've been using Powertime for a while now, happy with them.
Great app
 
Powertime app - iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia

In case anyone is wondering, the iPhone app has been jonied by an Android app, a Blackberry app and just launched is the Nokia app. Search "Powertime" in the respective app stores, or links below:

A big difference using the app vs the SMS or other systems is that Powertime lets you track your expenditure, consumption, etc as well as set alarms for when your power is getting low.

(Disclosure -- I do work for powertime's holding company... but it really is a great little app :) )
 
Apparently this doesn't work anymore for the City of Cape Town.

Any ideas of what would work for Cape Town?
 
Still nothign even close to this in PE.
Here with our backwards municipality one still has to go to a physical store :(

It didn't work previous either....

They double billed me and issued two vouchers once....told me I can't be refunded...

The second time they double billed me and issued no vouchers, I had to drive down the road to get electricity... they did refund me though...

I stopped using the app, nice idea... badly coded/tested.


EDIT: Dammit,. necro thread.

Register with Paycity. Then buy by sms. Been doing it for 2 months now.

I just downloaded the Android app and subsequently sent Powertime the following email:

I just downloaded the Powertime app for Android but now, on your website, I read that you are not servicing the City of Cape Town.

How up-to-date is the information on your website as your system was able to validate my meter number.

Also, I have seen complaints that users get double-billed. Have this bug been fixed yet?
