Had the Pixma 7240 before this one... nothing wrong with, a lot smaller than this one, but also slower. Eventually printhead had to be replaced, would've cost with labour more than the replacement printer, plus it had t obe ordered from overseas. So it was a no-brainer. I prefer the Maxify over the Pixma, if you have the space. As for the options, I think the Pixma can print on CD/DVD ? Have never done that in the 3 years I had it. Not sure what other options there are. Maxify is quite powerful in its options, controlled by a touch panel
