I'll give him a try... going to make quite a big screen that can be used outside in summer, i.e. project across the pool when the night games are on
Quick question- how did you mount yours to the roof? It looks like we have the same ceiling mount... did you just bolt it to the ceiling board?

Dammit... thought you were going to say that... Our roof is about 60cm inside (flat roof), I planned on doing it the way you did, but was hoping for a short cut... cause I need to get into the roof, crawl to beams, measure distance between, crawl back, make support, get back in roof, mount support, mount projector, etc, etc,... it'll take me about a day, because it takes about an hour to crawl to where the projector will be mounted.
RE: Pool - we have an outside sitting area near the pool with a support beam across it, I'd put a projector mount there... A good distance from the pool.
Where did you guys purchase the Optoma Projector from?
If you have a tiled roof, it would be much easier working from under your tiles. My ceiling is probably narrower than yours where my projector is mounted. Also get a second set of hands to help out. Makes things alot easier.
Is your projector bracket a tooless design? Can you clip and unclip your projector without any tools? If you're gonna be moving your projector up and down I'd suggest a bracket like that as its a bit of an effort calibrating the projector on the bracket if you're gonna be moving it around.
Kinda daughnting having 15k hanging by 3 small screws above your head![]()
Projector screws into the bracket...although I discovered last night that the bracket doesn't seem to align with the three screws on the projectorUnless I'm doing something wrong.
Time to look for a new bracket I guess.... money wasted.
yip - sounds like mine, except I can't get each of the long plates to align with all three screw holes at the same time....
You have to play around with it to get them to align. I think one of the plates on mines covers 2 holes... I'll try taking a pic when I get home.
PCM - purely because mine doesn't do bitstream - I'm assuming you have a slim?
Depends on who you ask, but according to many the only difference is with Bitstream the receiver lights come on... I want to use Bitstream![]()
Lol the receiver looks much cooler with the lights on.
