Proteas choke again.... SIGH

Smith is not to blame. NZ was the better team on the day. What is this choke business? SA was simply out played. Their bowlers produced at the right time and we paid the price.

The Kiwi's didn't beat us. We lost to them.

How many times more must we choke before they get rid of GS?

smith is always at fault.
wtf was that giraffe playing in a kiwi kit, is that allowed? that 6 that wasn't that was out, would've changed the whole match.

anyhow WD Kiwis, didn't expect tha!!

Lol i could have a field day with some of the tweet's of these twits.

AB DeVilliers
Off 2 Bangladesh. How about this for a quote? "I look back not to the achievments of INDIVIDUALS, but of COLLECTIVE ACTION"

But i wont go there. As much as i feel angry i feel sorry for them too.

Smith cannot really be blamed for this though...we have a disgustingly good batting line up..and its shocking that we couldnt get it together and chase down what I thought was a reasonable total.
As a captain i dont think smith did anything wrong, but I would have dropped him anyways.

Any way, on to the RWC!!!!

Agreed, everybody is blaming the selectors and captaincy, but there was no problem until we lost this, except against england. This team is good enough to beat anybody, but when it matters we choke. We just can't handle presure, fix that and we can do it.

When you are better team man for man but fail to stand up to the pressure when it really matters its a choke. You can try and sugar coat it but facts are facts. SA's record of never having won a knockout game in the wc speaks volumes for our cricket team(especially the batsmen's) mental abilities...

"South Africa lost a few wickets and we imploded completely playing stupid shots and Kallis seemed determined to jog up and down the pitch and was almost run out three or four times."

So we played stupid shots, tried to run ourselves out but NZ outplayed us? I dunno seems like we contributed big time to our demise as usual. We do it every time so nothing unusual about us imploding and losing from what should be winning positions.
Kallis looked so bored and listless one could have thought that he was sleep walking.

Nah he can't really be blamed. But I still don't have a clue why he is captain or opening batsman? :wtf:
Apperently he has no clue either.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” said poor “Biff” as Mark Nicholas, handling the televised post-match presentation ceremony, asked him for possible reasons for this stark failure.

Totally right dude. It's not like the ball was turning square with uneven bounce. The shot selections was indicitive of the fact that NZ applied pressure and SA crumbled.Unlike India who were in the same position against the Aussies chasing a bigger total but somehow managed to stave of a collapse.
I think is has to do something with a sense of entitlement that makes us arrogant against weaker teams.

You guys do know we also chocked under cronje and pollock?? Smith isn't the reason the chocker mentality is around the squad.

Bowlers did their batsmen can't handle pressure, no bmt in this batting lineup.
And part of it is now being 'blessed with talent' and consider this to be a dilemma, albeit usually sugar coated as 'a good one to have'. This can only create doubt in the players' mind and the expectation that he must perform on a superlative level, leading to his own downfall.

Being blessed with talent should be our normal condition, there should be 10 guys lining up for each position in the team, each one with equal talent.

Well said.

Damn, when we were 100/2 I chased down to the pub to watch our victory with a few mates...and three beers later we were out. WTF. Haven't felt so depressed since 1999's epic farkup.

Yes and the fact that the likes of Kepler (and other senior players no doubt) already wrote NZ when they posted a paltry 222,instead of treating the game on merit. The same mindset exists in the players where they feel they can sleepwalk(Kallis and Smith)their way to victory.

Yeah wtf is with Kallis? He looked like a useless sack of **** on the field staring at the floor all the time. I'm sorry but he's a test player, end of story. Whenever he takes on the ball in odi games who goes out pathetically. The team selection was a ****up, end of story. Messing around moving van wyk to keeper, then removing him from that position. Leaving Boucher out and Albie Morkel out. They deserved to get their asses handed to them with a batting lineup like that.

I agree - we missed Boucher and Albie further down the line as our top 5 are notorious for crumbling.

We blew one of the best chances we had to win a world cup. This is the most talented team in the history of the proteas. So many talented players together in one team.

I like the way Corrie says THE NATION must help with the team, what a joke. I remember once when Kallis messed up with something and when the camera was on him he mouthed the words F@#% OFF, well this part of the nation says he must F$%% OFF.

Do we really think they give a damn about THE NATION??

Corrie is in that position where he doesn't know what to say to be honest, so he makes up a bunch of k@k.....

Faair almal in CSA, even up to the cleaners....
