All this "let the nation decide" is k@k to say the least. let us decide on a prison name change, let us decide what team must play cricket, let us decide this and decide that whist the government rip the nation a new ********* whenever they get a chance.
 
the solution is simple - call them SPRINGBOKS - no more choking - lets stop this protea cr@p, call em bokke

I kind of get what he is saying but the fact is that all the top five or six nations in the world are under the same pressure and they are highly paid professionals who should be mentally strong enough to deal with it.

It also doesn't help when the team is in denial constantly refusing to admit publically that the chokers tag bugs them. I'm no psychologist but isn't it better to admit these problems to yourself and your supporters and then to work through them?
 
Do people think that by saying that the nation must get involved that will soften our stance towards the dismal performance of the team or the corruption inside our prisons. Try going into a stadium after hours and you will get thrown in the clank, even if the stadium was built with taxpayers money or it/they were part of the nation. These words are cheap talk thats all.

In the past that chokers tag seemed to hover unfairly above them,but now it will become etched on their foreheads like a badge to be worn with scorn and remorse.
Now only will they finally admit it and we will never see them utter statements like 'we will never choke' or 'we are no longer chokers'.
 
Don't support them anymore! I don't know why people still went to the airport to welcome them back. F**k them. Smith is hopeless and should be dropped. Kallis is a fat POS and should be dropped. Vetgat is so lazy, just stands and daydreams all the time. What has he done in this WC? That middle order is dodgy. In the past, we could bat comfortably all the way down to 11. Now if the middle order fails, it's just a countdown to when we get bowled out. I really had lots of hope for us this time around. I didn't think we would choke again. It's just a sad joke now. SA will never win the cricket world cup. If they couldn't win it by now, they never will. I'm not supporting or watching them anymore. I'd rather support Bangladesh than SA. At least Bangladesh have guts.

Not choosing a well balanced team by selectors and inexperienced middle order. Choked
Team selection for match - as we have seen against India/Pakistan series, our tail is the longest, so we needed to play 7 batsmen. We did this in every game (except Bangladesh) and they did not want to drop Botha for Ingram. Choked
Panic set in when we batted - it felt like they just wanted to get it over with and that never works. As opposed to the game against Eng, where we tried to defend our way to 170. Really, just go there play play normally, each ball on merit. Chokers

When asked about Donald coaching the NZ bowlers, Smith had the audicity to write him off, saying "things has changed a lot since Donald bowled".

WTF did he think Donald as a coach do not adapt with the times and still thinks this is the 90's. Fck Smith - he is as useless a captain as he is a batsman.:mad:

The reast of the team should all be fired from the 1 day sqaud and compete for a righful place - this thing about a "place for life" in the proteas is what makes us so weak mentally.

Someone said in an earlier post that they were just getting back into Cricket after not watching for a couple of years... Well, that was kinda me too.
I was fanatical about the game but pretty much stopped watching after the Hansie saga in '00. I know many people won't agree with me but, as far as I'm concerned, Hansie is still "my" captain (just like Francois will always be and John has become). I was never really convinced of Sean's captaincy and I've never, never liked Graeme, so watching them never felt like watching "my" team... As a result, getting back into cricket was difficult and it took a long, long time but eventually I managed it.
Anyway, five failures in the knock out stages later, especially this one, have officially made a mockery of the work I've put in to reconnect with this team. My clock has been reset to zero... Maybe I'll be watching again in ten years time, who knows, but it sure doesn't feel like it right now... NZ FFS!
Someone else also posted that they felt sorry for the team. Sorry??? I can't do that. These boys earn millions, throwing, catching and hitting a ball. They earn millions, travel the world, have a team of specialists managing most things for them and then they don't do their job when it really counts!! You watch, Smith and Kallis will be selling themselves as public speakers in the next couple of weeks at R50K a pop... What tragedy!
I've never said it before but the time has now come... CHOKERS!
