It wasn't a showcase, it was a 9 minute technical presentation, thats all. A State of Play will either be next week or month end.

Maybe in the future with a VRR TV, but even the the loss on current console plus the upgrade purchase will likely outweigh the price of PS6 at launch which will likely do far far more.

I wish they’d put this much effort into their software. The fact you can’t move stuff between drives in the background or turn the thing off without a hundred button presses is still outrageous to me in 2024.

Did anyone make the "get a second job" joke already...? And Astrobot looks so damn cool and fun. If this thing is under R20000 (still way out of my reach) I'll be surprised. For that kinda money I'll just game on PC.
 
This will probably follow the same path as the PSVR2. Crazy expensive.

Had this be console be capable of 120fps on fidelity mode, then I would have bought this immediately.
 
I already have a PS5 digital edition and it's the worst decision I made. Can't play disc games at all and its very annoying.

Yes its exactly that but as mentioned it's a bad decision I made not knowing the implications especially seeing the prices of the old ps4 games on the store. Old digital games that I don't have and want to play still go over like R1k

I partly agree with you. The 60fps modes in first party titles like R&C Rift Apart and Horizon Forbidden West were so darn good that they really didn't need any improvements.

They should've showcased it with the sub-1080p stuff like Star Wars Outlaws, Black Myth Wukong, FF XVI and Alan Wake 2 among others. Those titles would show huge benefits from the bigger GPU + PSSR, very little chance of anyone with decent vision failing a blind test on those.

pouring one out for all the homies going into debt to buy a R20k PS5 Pro. Probably closer to R25k for disc drive and stand, julle koppe raas.

Guess we should call that part of it quick switch or something.

Which in fairness is a useless feature in multi person households playing the same games, I would have must preferred if the game slots saved the last 5 instances and not last 5 games.
