PSA: Sickbeard is out, Sonarr is in.

Oh another thing, if you are moving from sickbeard move your scripts out of your scripts folder.

SAB was still trying to run them even when I changed from sabtosickbeard to default.

What scripts did you delete - the autoProcessTV folder or just the sabToSickBeard.py file?

I'm still using Sickbeard - which I never really got to work with torrents, and sometimes I miss that function with older shows.

Now I see SickRage supports torretns and has built in providers for sites like Kick Ass Torrents. Does Sonarr also offer this option?

Lol, I could never get torrents to work either. No matter how much I tried.

Can you still schedule stuff to download at a specific time or does it start as soon as the episode is available?

- Activity Tab. let's you see what is going on. you can even see download progress right in the UI.
- Failed downloads will be resnatched.
- Blacklist. failed NZB's get added to this list so it will never grab those again when retrying.
- Calendar. I personally love this - see what you missed/etc. I guess SB had this under "coming episodes" but I just love this color coded design more.
- Best Auto Snatching by far. I couldn't believe the quality I got from Sonarr's snatches!
- No crappy external Scripts running, to process shows.
- When you snatch something, it's very fast at putting it into SAB, and just feels a lot more responsive.
- The GUI - see a failed download in your activity log? Click on the show or episode to go to it, see more info, or to grab another release. Easy & intuitive to jump from place to place!
- Manual Snatching! Man I needed this option so bad.
- Easier to understand profiles, with quality/size sliders.
- Not only can you view thetvdb info, but IMDB and TV Rage info as well.

Those are just the top of my head.

But Sickrage does all that stuff too?

One thing that's confusing me is when I had SB/SAB setup if I manually uploaded a nzb to SAB, it would then process the file using the script and update SB when it was downloaded.

How does that work with Sonarr now seeing scripts are not used?

That way of doing things is redundant now.
You don't need to manually upload nzbs to SAB, because Sonarr has a little button next to each episode that allows you manually pick the nzb you want.

Cool - thanks!
I'm liking Sonarr more and more now :)

I have some older episodes on the go and needless to say I am not impressed with this Usenet Bucket account. Topping out at 100KB/sec.

That's 10% of my line speed.

edit: its not them. Got the same speeds on my Astraweb block account.

Webafrica must be shaping NNTP traffic into the ground :erm:

Was just about to say, I always get 100% speed from UsenetBucket :p
They are good, trust me - They e-mail out loads of promotions, competitions and discounts. They're awesome all round.

My tweaknews account expires tomorrow - going to try out UseNetBucket - it works about pretty cheap for a 3 month account even if its only 40Mbit :p

google for discount vouchers before you do it.
Then once you have done it there is another limited time discount you will find in your promotions tab in usenetbucket control panel thing

I paid around R120 2 months back till October.

I never had any issues with missing articles with Tweaknews. I have tried Usenetbucket in the past and have tried using them again a month or so ago and I frequently get missing articles with them. This is on articles less than 100 days old. They are cheap but I would rather spend more to get a reliable service. Never had speed issues with either providers.

There is tons of speed issues at the moment. my speed goes up and down all the time. Also there is an issue with Afrihost - they are sorting it out soon i hope.
