Got my drone back yesterday from Uganda's drone jail as I was leaving the country. You might be able to smuggle the new Mavic Mini in via your pocket but anything larger is going to share this closet with a lot (maybe 100+) of other drones.

Yep - banned in general. Kenya too but there I carried it though customs in my pocket.Whats this all about? Are they just banned in general there?
IMO it's too dumbed down but it could be a lot of fun, for a while.
It's only an expensive doorstop if the bug don't bite - in that regard it's not surprising this drone thread is in the photography section because that's the biggest money pit of them all!A better idea might be to get a cheap one with a half decent camera and play around with it before dropping a lot of money on an expensive door stop.

I've got one of those little mini parrots and it's a real pain in the taxi to fly.
I love flying mine.
I'm considering getting a Mavic 2 Pro at a later stage. The Skydio 2 also looks like a cool drone, but I don't know if they will be available locally in the future. I have the Mavic Pro and I like it, but I never take it with me when I travel. The Mini will fit nicely in my camera bag. I was planning on taking it with me when traveling to Armenia this December, but I'm going to stay in Qatar for a few days on my way to Armenia and it would seem that taking a drone with me would lead to complications.Spend a little more and get an Air![]()

That's just the thing! Drones can produce some incredible aerial footage - as you have shown!
They're more of a photographers tool, rather than a toy these days

I just ordered one from Kameraz as they confirmed they had stock. ORMS shows they have stock, but I never received any communication confirming this. I've been on a waiting list from Outdoor Photo for a while now and was told last week Thursday that they would receive stock that day, but was never contacted again.Any indication of how long the waiting list is? Or when stock is expected?
They are. I've bought a few things from them in the past.Nice, are they a reputable place? never heard of them
Awesome! I'm rooting for you! Thanks, will give them a call and see if luck is on my side and i can get it still today![]()
Cool. Will give it a go. Now just to find a place in Pretoria East where I can fly...
