Yep.

There was a flaw in the system and sometimes it wouldn't throttle you at all...... seems it is fixed now.
Although.......it kicks in at 300MB, not 150MB

True, and I'm already missing the days when I didn't get throttled........AT ALL.
If I remember correctly, I once got just under 6 Gig's, in downloads, and that's excluding browsing!
I tried twice since December and it seems they fixed the "bug", I only got about 300mb the last time I loaded the R50 bundle(about 2 weeks back).

After the throttle , a simple 4 or 5mb mp3 can take up to 1-2 HOURS!!! Once the speed is reduced, it's becomes annoyingly unbearable to even browse web sites and personally, this service sucks. R50 for about 150-300mb is not worth the pain......for me anyway!

Just want to make sure, one buys a bundle and then activates it ...

Would some kind sole, put up the full start to end procedure for using one of these bundles.

Wanna try a few and see what my results are ...

Using MTN SIM in a Vodaphone modem ... , no MTN dashboard available.

Just tried this load of pure crap again and lo and behold, I get a mighty 128k before I even get to 150mb and about 33 - 99k after. This is an absolutely disgusting service from MTN. How the hell is 150mb f***ing fair usage??? Maybe 1gig could be, given that you are greedy enough, but 150mb? Wait, maybe even 10mb is fair usage... who knows.

I've tried this seemingly great offer, but after using it on three occasions, and being disappointed and really frustrated at the speed, I took the plunge and bought the Cell C 5GIG a month bundle... Best data decision I've ever made.

Well, THIS also has been fixed now, I've tried 2 times recently again, and it's back to 150mb and speed throttle down to virtually.......nothing thereafter!

I once activated on Sunday Night and got cutoff only the following Thursday. Got full speed all the way, The highest my torrents went was about 450KB/s. Got about 60GB in those 4 days.

I'm not sure you can activate a bundle on top of another bundle. Haven't tried to do that.

With Vodacom it does work, It adds it to the total data value available. Just haven't tried it on MTN.

I know you can't activate a second one day bundle until the first one has expired. Bit of a pain since they throttle you after you hit 150mb.

i used my data bundle (10 mb),but now dey charge me the out of bundle rate which is r1 per mb...i think that this bundle will de activate when you activate your 1day uncapped bundle,and re activate after the 1day bundle is finished but i am not sure,i really need help,i cannot wait 2months for the data bundle to expire

if your 10MB bundle is finished, it has expired too, basically.


or is it going to take you two months to blow 10MB?
(it is 83 million bits after all...)


In any case, i'm sure it freezes your bundle for the 24 hour period.

Don't wait for the expiry date if you can't load the bundle when you do have data, just deplete it and then try. And it's R2/MB OOB.

No, only Vodacom is R2 per meg Out of bundle, MTN is actually only like 40c or something (iirc)

lol,it depends on what bundle you buy to get that out of bundle rate...i have finished the 10mb but the out of bundle rate still applies and that only expires in april! I just hope the 1day uncapped still works,thanks for your help

Strange.......care to share with us the exact time and date which "your" bundle was activated?
I haven't tried this R50 bundle again in over 2 months(since Jan 2011), and as far as I know, all bugs were "fixed" and any given user would only get about 100-200mb for the duration of the 24 hrs.
