Surely there must be loads of suitably qualified black candidates to replace them all.
Are you going to be a man of your word and lead by example in transforming your own party accoding to this new policy?

I find it so funny, that people are still disadvantaged thanks to government not fulfilling their roles/promises and actually BETRAYING SA by selling out. Yet to "fix" the issue, the white man is blamed.... but the ANC government caused this crap 25 years later.

If goverment actually did what they promised, there would be little to no disadvantaged people. We got coal, natural resources , gold, platinum etc... and we got 25% unemployment rate.

We first need to understand what is a suitable qualification for an MP.

Key and also impossible, there is no such thing as equal competence, especially if you entrust a recruiter / manager / judge to somehow consistently determine it.

Two identical twins that studied the exact same subjects at the same time throughout their lives with the exact same scores and exact same work experience would still not be equally competent for a specific role.

It may be a role in the tourism sector and wouldn't you know it, one of the twins is more excited by it, hence a better fit / more competent. You can bet your last cent that if there is even a remote chance of two candidates being considered "equal" the "disadvantaged" one would automatically get the nod just to avoid the question of equal competence even coming up in future.

This is every bit as racist as the current BBBEE policies and makes no difference whatsoever. Bye bye DA, go take a high hard one up the poop chute.

The DA‘s plan to offer a remodelled version of the ANC’s black economic empowerment (BEE) to voters might backfire, a political analyst has warned.
DA leader Mmusi Maimane said: “BBBEE (broad-based black economic empowerment) is a redress policy. The ANC has its own model, and our model says give equity to employees, educate people, develop enterprises and broaden inclusion.”

Maimane rejected claims that the DA had wholly rejected the policy.

“This is grossly inaccurate, you can ask anyone and you can speak to members. I don’t support the ANC’s model because it had its own consequences because the people who support BEE, more than blacks, are those that underwrite BEE deals. To me it’s about education and to broaden the inclusion,” Maimane said.

“On the matter of redress and empowerment, we have not decided to move away from race-based redress policies, however, we unequivocally reject the ANC’s version of redress which operates to enrich and re-enrich the connected elite,” he said.

Hahaha. So, it's not only are whites feeling disenfranchised with this new policy, its blacks too.
This is what happens when virtue signalling parties flip-flop and try appease everyone, all the time.
They get rejected on both ends of the spectrum.

The DA is imploding because it has put race and victim politics before good governance in the run-up to the elections. .

Why do we need a proxy for 'disadvantaged' at all? If a child drops out of high school, how is the disadvantaged, if a black parent is serious about educating there child they may find plenty of people in the public schooling system who is willing to help.

If you work hard to educate yourself or your child you will find success in this country, you can use white people/apartheid as an excuse for your failures but really after 25 years of freedom, there are no more disadvantaged people.

True, but our #ProudlyANC is making sure to keep people disadvantaged (that is how they stay in power, freebies = votes).
