bandwidth issues,
gonna try later.
Got my phone outside now to try even connect.
Dunno, think the NW really troubles Cell C in my bunker flat.
Once the rain starts I am doomed I guess.

I've seen pics of telco towers flattened in CT now.

Anybody seen this?

that is my view sort of, and I haven't see that

It's raining now in Stellenbosch, still not that bad. Wind is relatively calm.

Dunno which area you are in.
I am perched overlooking the Atlantic, an boy its impressive.
Table view / western seaboard, and while one can see there's some action, my main gripe is all the doomsayer prophecies predicting some epic storm. Honestly I have seen NOTHING today that comes close to being a proper storm. Hell my commute to work was under blue skies and sunshine all the way to Century City, didn't even need my wipers, I even walked 1km in this morning's weather.

Let's be honest, the Cape Argus that was cancelled earlier this year had much stronger winds, and about a week ago my area had a much heavier downpour than this, neither of those were storms either ...

You want to see a storm, August 2008 was a storm, my double-pane sliding windows literally bent the aluminium frame that held them from the wind's force, I could stick my arm through the gap, the rain hit your face like a PK, on youtube you can find clips of that storm, the ocean water routinely got above the promenade level out in Seapoint.

With 80mm of rain and wind speeds in excess of 100km/h predicted for the current storm, it should be putting the 2008 storm to shame, yet it can barely be called a storm at all. This is just Cape Town winter weather, a big 'meh'.

The "RESCUE" vehicles from our base are running like MAD today! A call came in now for a "Wendy House that has collapsed on people"

JOH! :(

I see on News24 that Cavendish square mall is closed. Part of the roof collapsed.

Edit: Also the roof of the Mr Price store in Somerset Mall.

Looks like these shopping centres are cheaply built...
