I was in Montague other day, they still have a stop go system in place. Taking their time there

It was bucketing down over here in Kraaifontein about an hour ago. Lasted about 30 minutes, but then abruptly stopped.

Yep, I did/do K2C each year and around 2016 was the first time we encountered the stop/go there. Did not go last year but this year we went to Outdhoorn for the long weekend - still at it. Stop go in town and on the way to Montague.

I will be very surprised if next year September they are done.

Yeah no chance it will be done by next year, the stop go this year was around 1km long, maybe longer and there was very little activity regarding working being done on both days I travelled that section. It is going to be a few more years I would guess

Over the long weekend in September it was a pain in the rear - especially on the way back with the zipper merging for the traffic coming in from Swellendam.

Maybe in 2023 it will be done - when I won't be going anymore after finishing my 10th K2C. (I hope in 2022)

The road is expected to be a main artery for the country. The design of the bridge has very little to do with the town.

Off topic, but precisely true. The R62 is the only Provincial Road running West-East in the region (other than the N1 and N2).

The wind was behind me at approximately 85km/h so theoretically my airspeed was only 75km/h. Everyone knows these days the Cops use radar to sense your speed and that is airborne measurement, unlike the old days where they put the 2 lines over the road and measured the land speed you are travelling

And some crazy wind to go with it. Jus it's blowing kak hard here right now, last night as well. Hope the wind at least dies down by morning for forest time.

Temporary gap in the rain in Kenilworth, but already an impressive 24mm in the gauge at 9:45pm. Streets were briefly flooded just now. The satellite images show plenty more rain to come in the next few hours.
