RAIN Huawei 5G CPE Pro settings

He(CEO) is too busy driving his Ferrari as to care for his customers......Telkom is bad but RAIN 's support is beyond shocking. One thing Rain must learn you cant promise to help customers and you do nothing -if you want your reputation in the mud you must have this attitude
My effort paid of Conrad emailed me, an email he send to Pieter Neuhoff telling him to get field services Heini Gentle involved in sorting out my issues. persistence seems to pay off

Glad you getting help. Keep us informed. Did he respond to your linked in ?Please check your inbox
Yes Conrad send me an email, after reading my linkedin message. I received emails this morning from both Pieter Neuhoff and Hein Gentle, they are sending a field service team at 12 to assist me in getting correct and proper settings etc. I've never had so many calls from Rain since I have been with rain, than what I had this morning, suddenly everyone is calling and working to resolve issues.

What a waste, Hein and two other guys plus Christopher came, no real resolve, I have 2 options
Option 1 move router almost 400 meters away, which means I can only connect via Lan cable,
Option 2 keep router where it is now and wait for vodacom to fix 5g tower errors hopefully in coming days, or hope that they speed up erecting of new tower (which is happening in next 60 days, as our church already signed agreement for tower to be installed on church property) which will be 300 meters from my location, and stick with slow crappy speed.

I opted to go for option 2

How would option 1 even work.... So bizarre

I retesting that Vodacom are the ones that have to fix the errors and not rain

It is so frustrating, the tower is broken since 9 August 2020, now 23 days, if they move router, I must pay for putting up another 3m pole, pole plus lan cable to get connection in my flat, I am staying in a complex, on second floor, quiet a big complex, but costs involved to get a max of 200 mb/s in long run not worth it, I'd rather wait for new tower to be completed.
Rain is very dissapointing, just as I had my hopes up, but the way cpe is designed, it does not lock on to just one tower, it consistently roam for better connection, and unfortunately tower that is in line of sight is broken, and rain says vodacom responsible for that tower:cautious:

and worst thing is, I send them an email, telling them that my router only connects to this one tower, as both the other 2 towers has obstacles that prevent proper line of sight connection. guess they did not believe me,

Guess that's life:crying:

Man that sucks -my situation is just as crap -The Lynwood towers also have error alarms on it and thats the cause of all my slow woes and unstable speeds -the techs I spoke yesterday confirmed it but Conrad dont agree with the Techs......can you believe it = I am so frustrated Im paying also R1000 for an unstable connection. I have proof that my connection drops 20 times during the day to 4mb download which is beyond frustrating..So yes I feel your exact pain as I have pretty much the same. Conrad said Im connecting to a site 1.83km from me -if I log into the rain website it shows me Im connecting to a Lynwood tower 2.94km from me. Who must I believe the Ceo or the techs ? @rain_mobile

The fact of the matter is -Rain stop playing the blame game and send your Engineers out to your towers with fault alarms on it -the customers are suffering !!!!!!

no matter how much they turn, move shift router it goes back to the only tower that has proper line of sight, ie elevation etc. my router refuses to connect to the towers that is lower than where I am. and i am not willing for the sake of 60days to pay rain an exorbitant amount to move my router, and then I can only connect to it via lan, or range extenders, come on, do they now what a good proper range extender cost.
rain sucks

Praise God, My rain woes finally over, after a month of battling with average speed of 45.4 mb/s at 2 am in the morning and 33 mb/s during day, I hit for the first in over two months 330 mb/s and average of 287mb/s, Yesterday during the day and evening I averaged around 160 mb/s. Conrad Leigh was of great help in getting Pieter Neuhoff and Heinie Gentle involved, and within 3 days they resolved my issue, Thank you Guys, now please train your call centre staff, on how to assist clients

What did they do? What did they say was the issue?

exactly, they really dont give much info when they "fix" things - they should inform us what was "fixed" and they should now try to do this "fix" on all towers...

Yes it looks that way, after they left monday my speed was still round 90-100 tuesday it went up to around 140 wednesday it went up to 180 to 220 and today i get average of 287 mb/s and at times it goes to 320 to 330 mb/s. so tower is defnitely fixed

What did they do? What did they say was the issue?
the tower had alarms, and they went to see what was wrong with tower after they left my house, by yesterdayy i could see a jump in speed, and today my speed rarely goes below 180 but average 220 to 280

they fixed the tower, as this is where my woes was, since 9 August, each time they contacted me they told me tower had alarms, but after contacting Conrad, they finally fixed it. mosts areas are congested, and they need to install more towers, I am getting a tower 300 meters from my flat, will be installed at our church property

It's bizarre that it took them so long to come out and check the alarms...

Glad it's sorted though
