Rain is down

There are a few people from centurion with the same issue including myself.
No feedback from rain as what the cause is. (I asked last week Thursday @rain_mobile )
signal is as follows

I basically have the same issue:

My CPE unit disconnects from the 5G network and switches over to 4G and then doesn't want to connect to the 5G network again. This is probably happening at least three times a day and then suddenly all is fine again.

It's as if the tower that I'm connecting to does not have a 5G service for that period.

The worst part is when I move my CPE unit to a place where I have clear line of sight to the tower that Rain suggests I connect to it doesn't want to connect at all. This is also the place where I have the most bars on my 4G connection.

The best speed I have gotten was over 300mbps but from a location that does not have line of sight and where the connection stats is much worse. This is driving nuts...

I would like to know why this is happening? Why would the tower in question not always have 5G service for certain periods or is it something else?

Have any of you guys had feedback from RAIN on this. Their support is non-existent. I will have to cancel if this does not improve.

Just for interest sake are any of you guys in the Centurion area and how many bars do you guys have on your 4G connection on average?
Hi WapTrapDiep,

Please drop us a DM with the email address linked to your rain account so that we can further investigate your query?

Down again now.

Mine too. :crying: I just don't know what to do anymore.

However I'm now very confident in saying that my 5G won't connect if the signal intensity is better than -80 on the 5G. It's currently trying to connect to

and can't.

Which is why it doesn't work on the roof at all.

@rain_mobile

*edit*

Nevermind. It doesn't connect to 5G at worse signal intensity either. Just does not connect to 5G at all today, no matter where I put the router.

What is your RSSI number like when your CPE is on the roof?

It connected! Oh man, please stay connected.

This is on the roof now. I really really hope it stays connected. For the last week it refused to connect there.

Nevermind. It lost connection and now I'm without 5G again.

I feel your pain, I'm currently connected but it won't be long before I'm disconnected again.
RSSI from what I understand is an indicator of your overall signal strength and -50 should be fine.

When my RSSI is at it's best it doesn't want to connect, but I don't know if there is any correlation between that and having a 5G connection.

Thank you. Now I know some more about it too.

Mine is now up and down. Early this morning it didn't want to connect at all. Now it connects, stay connected for a while then drops. Then it stays dropped for a while and then connects again and repeats.

Same here .

I've been connected now for the last 10 minutes. So that's good. Don't know what changed. I hope it stays up.

You still connected ?

I've been mostly up today. I do get the occasional periods where it doesn't connect but overall it has been much better for me today. Just early this morning it was completely dead.

I had a look now and I'm currently connected to 5G. I hope it works better for you too.

hahahaha ... Nope i haven't been back online since it last dropped.

I think that if the LTE worked then I would have been alright but even though the LTE is connected there's basically no throughput. And no matter where I put the router now, it just plain refuses to connect to 5G. It just sees the signal then drops it again.

It is so frustrating.

I wish Rain would give a statement on this. It's affecting a lot of us.
