Hi i have the Huawei B315s-936 used mainly with Rain 19hr Uncapped sim. Get on average between 5-8Mbps.
Looking at getting the B618 router, which is the best model for the Rain network?
I'm currently using a B618s-65d without any issues.

The B315s-22 supports Band 38 as well, but only up to CAT4, so the B618 would be a better choice, RAIN don't seem to throttle speeds on Band 38.

For some reason I can't get Band 38 in my area, the only network on Band 38 that the router picks up is Telkom. Kinda sucks to be me atm as my speeds very rarely exceed 7 mbps

Just wanted to report my experience with Rain. Ordered my sims (3) on 20-08-18 and paid for the sims through the site. Received them yesterday and had my proofs of residence and ID ready for the guy from Ram couriers. He then proceeded to scan in my proof of residence and then verified my ID against myself and afterwards I was requested to sign on the device that he had with him. That was it and it took about 2-3 min to complete the process.

I then had a look at the packaging of each sim which was very neat as each was in its own little packaging and each came with a simcard removal thingy (used to open the Sim tray on the device). After about 30 min I received emails stating that my sim were activated on Rain for each of the sim cards. Then I logged into the website dashboard and had to set a limit for each sim card and saw that each sim had received the 15 unlimited data days which will end on 10-10-18 for me.

I did not take out the R250 unlimited off-peak data since I wanted to first test my actual usage on their network. Process complete and I'm a happy costumer. My speedtest results :

Received my sim cards yesterday and after many e-mails they are still not activated. Seems they are just like all other SA broadband providers. Quick to take your money, not so quick to deliver.

Reboot your router.

Just a pity they **** over other customers by not activating sim cards.

I’ve been very happy with Rain Mobile (used in a router).

Good for you. I have one sim in the router and one in the cellphone. Not one is activated. I e-mailed them early today and they stated that sims will be activated in 2 - 4 hours. This did not happen. So I e-mailed (again and again) and they said it was escalated to 'management'. Sims still not active. Just as pathetic as Telkom.
