Is it really uncapped if you only get 40kb/s download speed with 1.2kb/s upload? And then loose service for half the day?
Still want find out what other provider can beat it.

I had it in a device and then in a laptop. Got crap speeds. Bought a second hand B315 router off gumtree (R500), now get constant 13mb down (21up)

I'm going to take it to my parents house and see if reception is better where they stay, then they can use it, I do have fibre at home

No denying that R250 Rain is the best deal out there, but with the fix LTE you would expect better speeds and service. I am just waiting out this 5G developments and if not I will probably bail on the fixed LTE as there is better deals out there for fixed LTE.

I wouldn't outright dismiss this network. My fingers are crossed though that if i move i'd still experience the same kind of awesomeness

Pic of a new rain tower in Himeville, KZN. Seems like they chose to put in their own infrastructure in the Telkom enclosure rather than share the Vodacom towers. IMG_20190316_104326.jpg

Sweet for you. Has it been commissioned and active already? Have things improved for you if you staying in the area?

No was just visiting. Apparently ADSL is pathetic. Pretty good speeds - no battery or geni backup though so off with LS.

Testing RAIN in Gordon's Bay this morning - only 3 bars out of 5 on this Huawei B593s-601 Ver. B and the speed feels quite erratic. But it seems to feed from a tower in the Strand as I get zero signal when that area is being loadsheded.

Edit: Had zero signal from 2am till just after 4am and again from 10am till just after 12:00 (coincides 100% with the loadshedding time of Zone 3)

I noticed I normally lose rain signal during load shedding but this morning during our early morning (5am) slot the signal didn't cut. We're loadshedding again now and the signal is gone again.

Speed is down in the gutter this morning in Gordon's Bay. Barely getting 0.5mbps. Varies between 0.00 and 0.50. :(

Hi

I thinking about signing up with Rain, does anyone have any feedback in these areas, Chatsworth, Shallcross, Malvern in Durban?

What's the average download and upload speeds and does load shedding affect internet access?
Buy the 7 day trial.. R51 and test

has anyone been able to get their rain sim activated immediately rather than having to wait the 24hours? I chatted to one of the guys and they said there is nothing they can do, its an automatic process but after reading some of the comments here, some people have had theirs up and running within an hour in some cases?
