Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

1 AUGUST BILLING

Not sure if this only applies to me. Per July dashboard, the billing for July usage was supposed to be processed on 1 August. This never happened. I have emailed rain customer support to seek clarification and they haven't bothered responding. My services are still active and the dashboard has been refreshed and only reflects August usage. Next billing date is scheduled for 1 September. Funds still sitting in my account. Was there a billing run error?. Anyone having a similar query?

They only billed me R129 (pro rata) it seems for July. Thought they would take the full R250, but apparently not :wtf:

Thanks [MENTION=16630]StoneCold[/MENTION]. They also billed me pro-rata. But they never passed the debit off my bank account from 1 August till to date. Was that the case with you?
 
Ok this is definitely better than my Hellkom LTE

Seems like it was the case with me as well. Logged onto my online banking just to double-check my credit card transactions and it reflects only R129.03 which was processed on 3 Aug. I'm not complaining though, my connection still works :)

Nice. And all that for R250 what a deal no fibre provider can come close. :)

I'm not breaking any speed records but on Band 38 I'm getting consistant 25Mbps+ speeds which is pretty decent for anything really.

Edit huawei_band_tool_config with the correct router ip,username and password.

Then for Rain you basically only focus on these 2 files.

1800 being band 3 and 2600 TDD being band 38

Doesn't work on my 22d using AH RAIN sim....perhaps with pure RAIN sim it will but I'm on the R50 / GB option for a while longer...because I have a 25GB monthly package with free B315 router from AH that only ends in Sept without cancellation fee.

It must work no matter what service you are using. As long as you have a huawei router that supports band 3 a d b38 it will work. There are some towers just broadcasting Band 3 but very few so in most cases all towers broadcast band 38 too.
 
I added unlimited on 29 July and received a confirmation email that the unlimited package on the specific sim will be effective from 31 July 2018 as the free days ended on 30 July. I just checked my dashboard now and saw it wasn't added :mad: Tomorrow will be fun and games when I contact them

Rain online chat and email support must be the worst in the country. They are totally clueless. I spoke to them about the issue that they did not add the uncapped off peak package to my account after I added it on the dashboard and also received an email confirming. They told me they will look into it. In the meantime I'm being charged for data usage.

Today I received an email from support advising me they cannot add the package because I must do it on my dashboard.

It was added on 29 July and it was confirmed !!! How incompetent can people be ? :mad:

I have given up with this incompetent bunch of people. After providing then with a copy of the email where they (Rain) confirmed that I have subscribed to the unlimited package with effect from 31 July 2018 they now say I have not subscribed to the service. :mad:

You last resort if you want to is order another sim and once it is delivered [R120 :-( ] and you got the add-on sorted, cancel the other sim from the dashboard. :confused: Sorry this happened, hope they taking note of the frustrations caused.

Edit: Only use the twitter team regarding the issue. I know the Facebook team respond too but ignore their live chat for now. :(
