Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

Well no router available locally that I know off allows for B3+B38/41 aggregation that is why you are not seeing 4G+ on the router. Might be better to switch to a B618s-22d as it supports Band 38/41 so you would be able to switch between the bands manually. THe -65d only supports Band 3 for Rain.

Thank you @cavedog , appreciate your help, Okay the other router I have is the B525, have not tried that yet, will that work on Band 38/41 or is it only the 618s-22d that supports it?

Yes the B525 will work on band 41 which Rain uses.

Does rain data roll over at all (Standard prepaid) ?
They pro rata bill you according to how much you use so R50 per a gig

Then lets say you use 770MB

They will bill you
50/1024=0,048828125
Then 0,048828125*770=R37,59
Is all they will bill you.

i was downloading from mega.nz and the speed is 100 KB/S - 600 KB/S Why is Rain so slow ?

My signal Stats
RSRP -76
RSRQ -6
RSSI -55
SINR 28

skies are very clear in PE atm, no signal, no load shedding in our area atm

RAIN is down for me at the moment!! is it down for anyone else ? which areas are you in ?

I'm having issues with rain as well, currently getting 1 bar of signal on the router and speeds of about 1mbps, I suspect the nearby tower is down and my B618 is trying it's best to connect to the next tower which is much further away?

rain seems to be shaped to 4mbit today, speed sits exactly at that level
Honestly, I would be slightly happier if they were shaping to give everyone a chance to use the service.
I have been battling with under 1Mbps speeds for the last couple of months. Hardly anything works. At least 4Mbps is still usable.

They were doing this during peak times, maybe not so much these days with less fixed lte users

My signal went from -70 to -88 for the past week. Speeds 1Mbps & below.
This morning signal back to -70 but speeds sit at 8Mbps where they were at 20+Mbps usually.

Why Are they shaping ??? :(

Most likely to keep their network loads manageable, prioritize real time services etc... Standard stuff for congested networks

I need to do some more testing though to see how extensive it is
