Rain slow speeds and poor support explained

Its so shaped it becomes unusable. Treat consumers like trash with the product and no support.

So glad I am able to get fibre. I remember the days where the only place I could connect to iBurst was from the kitchen.

I agree though, you get what you pay for. If it’s to good to be true, well then it’s to good to be true.

Rain users = cheapskates

Mr Roos, shove your excuses up your ass. I pay over R400 a month for crap that barley works. Having to resort to using my cell c sim in my router and buying daily data to get work done. Then in the evening when I feel like watching a few YouTube videos I usually just give up after waiting 17 minutes to watch a 3 minute video. But I'm pretty sure you have no problem come pay day and you get paid your big salary?

Wonder whoever still listens to this guy, he just can never admit that Rain has huge issues. Only one probably getting good service is Vodacom.
I’ve just installed Vodacom fiber in my flat. I signed for a speed of 40 with upload of 10. When they installed I explained that there were two routers when I had Vodacom previously( I cancelled Vodacom a few months ago due to shocking service) I was told by the tech he would return in two weeks to setup the Vodacom router ( Huwei)
I have now found :
My bedroom where they installed a Nokia router I’m getting a speed of 40
In my lounge which runs off the bedroom ( less than 20 mts, a speed of less than 20
And my office ( 2nd bedroom) a speed of 2
I spoke to Vodacom at least 8 times about sending someone to format the Vodacom Huiwei router. A service request was opened a week ago. When I called tonight I was told “ Vodacom doesn’t do this and I must find someone to do it for me!
I’m pulling my hair out! Can someone help me??

Oh. ****! Get a reality check.
1. Its wireless - expecting uncapped is like taking a blowjob from Stormy Daniels without repercussion!
2. On incoming bandwidth you need to take your cake and eat it!

But what the hell do I known?

You actually hit the nail on the head althoigh I suspect iBurst was more reliable!

cant believe that people still defend these con artists by calling those that complain cheap skates or expecting too much, or being naive in terms of if something is too good to be true etc.

its very very simple. what is advertised? is what is advertised being delivered? if not, irrespective of price, people have a right to complain. and yes, they can and should vote with their wallets and leave, but that too doesn't mean they shouldn't complain.

Rain needs to stop selling LTE products, period! Stop moving backwards and continue to claim to be in an evolved advanced state of LTE, what you give is similar or worse than HSDPA, yes that 3g "hot" tech back in the day.

I had awful internet for nearly a decade, from Telkom to Vofacom they boned me with either bad speeds or daylight robbery costs. Ive been with Rain for 3 months and its the most consistent internet Ive ever had. The troubles I had with Telkom is like a massive mountain like Everest vs any issues Ive had with rain which is like a mole hill. Happy so far thanks Rain.

Jeez am joking before I cause a war..
You got a war buddy, 'merica **** yeah
Seriously here is the thing. Supersonic is not sure they can give proper coverage because of the area I'm in which is a small holding about 7km away from OR Tambo. Someone here uses them and their performance is not much better. So they charge a setup fee with an antenna. Telkom LTE seems useless as well according to my neighbour. Our only option is LTE because fibre will take many years to get here and the copper landlines are in such bad shape ADSL is useless as well. Telkom has no intention of fixing that. We have 3 sell phone towers within a 900 metre radius of our property but that does not help Rains poor performance.

Very confused on why you seems to have 2 routers? Anyway, seems you are working over wifi, range and walls are important with wifi, you will either need to get a wif extender of some kind of put in some network cable. If you asked them to put the router in where they put it in, also your baby to deal with.
