Sounds about right, mines 11km away...
There's a tower about 4/5km away but there's a hill in between us... When I pointed my external antennae in that direction I only get one bar...with a shoddy on/off 4Mbps connection.
What's your speed connecting to that tower? Mine is around 15mbps down and 6mbps up

Well the location given by the results I get for mine has a glaring lack of any kind of (new, at least (a church near that intersection has visibly old panels up)) LTE tower action so fred alone knows where I'm getting service from.
This seems to be very inaccurate , what they seem to be doing is tying up data reported by devices with gps in these areas. So if only 1 device has connected to this tower and reported its data 20 kms away, it will show the "tower" location 20kms off from where it is.

I saw when connecting to the 2600MHz band the CellID changed. I tried to look it up but it says "No tower found" with that CellID.
So I checked with the other CellID when connecting to 1800MHz and get the same reply. This CellID gave a location previously.

I had to use 01 for Vodacom. The tower location provided is north of where I live, RAIN told me south west is where I need to aim my antenna to. Looking at the map...I guess the tower this site gives me is 3km from where I live yet on the RAIN coverage map I am one pixelated block inside the coverage area. Interesting but conflicting results for me. Once I get my antenna I'll give feedback as to which direction actually worked. Thanks for sharing this though

I drove to the location of my tower which is 3kms away from me and on full signal strength could I only get about 27mbps download and 21mbps upload. Could it be there the actual tower needs some work or my area is just saturated?

Have you been able to get a solution on how to find the Cell ID on the B315? Or perhaps using external software to get it?

On the B315: Settings/System/Device Information
You will find the Cell ID, RSRP and SINR there.

More off a tower is standing in pick a pay yard, and your phone says you are connected to pick a pay, or anc HQ.

Even the E5186 Toolbox and ltewatch_h don't appear to report the CellID on a B315.

I think its your routers firmware.
My firmware version is 21.321.03.00.372 and i can see the cell ID.

Agreed, I updated my firmware to 21.321.03.00.372, and then had the CID.
Please advise how to update the firmware?

Logon to the router, and look for the "Update" button in the middle at the top.
I can also not find the Cell ID on my B315. Updated to latest Software version: 21.321.03.00.1232 . Any ideas? Thanks
It seems as if you need to 'downgrade' to firmware version 21.321.03.00.372 to access CellID on a B315.

How accurate is the information from Unwired? It indicates my tower in the middle of nowhere, and almost 90 degrees from where I get the strongest signal with my Poynting antenna.
I switched to 2600TDD band and the download speed improved a lot. Upload is however worse. RSRP is also worse. I'm sure this can improve, but Unwired cannot even locate the 2600 band cell ID. Is the LAC also 27 for other bands?
