*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

All sites, that includes local, are slow and often time out. Signal also jumping around 80 to 100 instead of staying at 100.

We had strong winds in Brackenhurst, Alberton this weekend. Maybe iBurst could send out some techies to check if the BTS is still properly aligned?

Whats happening now? Since yesterday gaming has been up to s%$ again. It was fine before that.

From iBurst's FB page:

"iBurst
Cable break latest update:- The cable ship arrives at the cable repair ground on 9th March. Prior to the commencement of the cable repair operation, SMW3 Segment S6 will be powered down. The expected repair completion date is now 14th March.

The route to the east coast to Europe will be operating as normal once the SMW3 repair has been completed. Currently extra capacity has been obtained and provisioned on the west coast route (which is running with an average of 15% spare capacity).

We are working on resolving the Youtube issues with TENET and Google. This is related to local GGC configuration issues and local peering arrangements. Thanks again for your patience. We will let you know progress as we get updates. Thanks! iBurst"

So we will just have to be patient until after the 14th March and see what happens.

Just checked my account and I have over 75gigs of anytime data, with current speeds I'll be able to use about a gig by the end of the month, then iBurst takes away data that I paid for but could not use because of service delivery problems on their network

Thanks for posting Bursty-dude. I wish iBurst would stop updating their bloody FB page and post updates on their site or on MyBB. Honestly, those FB updates only reach a minimal percentage of their clients.

Most of us either dont use fb or are blocked but then again they arent known for there communication skills

Some Youtube vids still don't load, but I could at least watch one I have been wanting to see for 2 weeks now without issues.
Previously it would buffer to 28% and just hang, but it played 10% now (and at 720p nogal!)

Have you tried downloading the youtube vids? It works much better.

Not really surprising that iBurst came in dead last. The cable break didn't help with the poll though. :D

Nor their reluctance to give us refund. It is a full month of degraded service. I have no sympathy.

Especially since every other ISP seemed to be able to recover

The service is fine now though, even if the cable hasn't been repaired yet. I've been getting full speed for the last 7 days or so. Apparently they did a bit of re-routing.

From iBurst's FB page:

"Good morning, the latest update on the cable break:- The cable ship has completed the final splice for the first fault and has started clearance for the second fault. The expected repair completion date is now 18th March. Thanks again for your patience and understanding. iBurst"

Bursty-dude when I play online my 1 Mbit modem has a low (50-100ms)latency but my 2 Mbit modem has a (150-240ms) latency!!!!!
