*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Would be nice if we could have an update from Iburst. Did the hamster die? Is someone not doing his/her job? is everyone on december leave?

My connection is still hugely erratic. Timeouts on both local as well as international sites, while others are okay.

seems the last update to this thread was over 24 hours ago, which is pretty poor.

Any word iBurst, or are we screwed for the entire weekend too?

I'm surrendering to what seems the inevitable and waiting for monday at work with WA in ADSL...though on and off they're pretty horriffic, too.

Luckly i'm using my Cell C speedstick to browse, or else I would be irritated with iBurst by now.

Even though I only get EDGE speeds.

As soon as there is a bigger problem, no one cares to update here what's going on! Otherwise there are always all sorts of excuses blaming everything else but never iBurst staff or equipment!

As of 08:00 this morning it is STILL not working..... this confirmed by the call centre.
International sites are still timing out!
:(
Cell C here I come!

HRM! ..is that because EDGE is all you ever got, or should you be getting the high speed network but something has gone wrong? (which is what's happened to me)

I've only ever got EDGE, because my suburb has not yet been covered by Cell C, only in mid-January or February will it be covered/upgraded.

I get an average of 50kbps, it's slow, but never disconnects. A 22MB podcast takes about an hour to download.

Wonder if there's any relation to the current problems and the fact that peering to MWEB is now via JINX where previously it seemed to be via MTN?

Originally we were told that wasn't an issue...but who knows anymore. I honestly get the impression at times that no-one knows what is going on. This is not unique to iBurst - I've had WA people also come up with a billion and one excuses, but at the end of the day it's clear they have no idea what's going on at times either.

*sigh* this is really getting irritating. Come on iBurst, don't be afraid to ask for assistance if you're so stuck.

Absolutely disgusting - I've been trying to do work from home on my iBurst wireless connection and for the last 4 - 5 days it's been horrible. I get DNS errors, timeouts, very slow connections to some sites some time and then it all switches around and the slow sites are fast and the fast sites are slow. iBurst appears to think all systems are online and functioning at full speed.

I hate to break it to you guys but I really don't think anything is being done to fix this - they don't believe us that there's a problem! Haha. I feel helpless!
