nothing there, so it didn't happen?
I see:
ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://portal.iburst.co.za/extra/ns.cfm

The following error was encountered:

Unable to forward this request at this time.

This request could not be forwarded to the origin server or to any parent caches. The most likely cause for this error is that:

The cache administrator does not allow this cache to make direct connections to origin servers, and
All configured parent caches are currently unreachable.

Your cache administrator is webmaster.

Still can't login into my account or check email, but the Internet is working on my side...

email from @lantic....

Dear Customer,

Your current loss of iBurst connectivity is due to an issue with our upstream wireless supplier, WBS, the iBurst network provider in South Africa.
As you may have read in the press there is a dispute between the Independent Communications Authority (ICASA) and WBS/iBurst/Broadlink regarding licence fees, which has resulted in the confiscation of some of WBS' core network equipment.
@lantic & Vox Telecom was not given any warning about this action and due to a breach of contract between ourselves and WBS, has lodged urgent complaints with both WBS and ICASA in an effort to have the services restored.
Every single Service Provider in South Africa making use of WBS/iBurst/Broadlink for last mile connectivity has been affected.
We apologise for the inconvenience and assure you that we are doing everything in our power to get this issue resolved. We will keep you up to date with any further developments.
From what we understand, the WBS team is currently in consultation with ICASA in order to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Please feel free to contact your local franchise or our national sales team to assist with.

Lovely.

This is exactly why I was saying iburst is incompetent yesterday.

I am back to dial up speeds, doesn't matter if I am using a flat panel or an omni antenna...
And once again we don't have a single person from iburst letting us know WTF is going down.

And as usual the iburst promise of "resolving the issue as soon as possible", that took like a month last time something broke.
Horrible service..

iBurst themselves have now officially admitted to issuing at least one blatant lie ("a power failure in one of our major data centres"). Here is there latest statement, as posted on Facebook:

WBS Network Outages Update:
We refer to the network outages and the confiscation of the WBS network equipment including removal of core fibre switches that took place yesterday which resulted in the disruption of services to the iBurst customers.
Negotiations between WBS and ICASA are still in process and once a resolution has been reached we will provide feedback.
iBurst would like to sincerely apologise to its valued customers for the inconvenience and assure them that we are working tirelessly to resolve and restore all affected services.

These people clearly wouldn't now how to do anything "sincerely" if they tried.

Internet was working fine last night until the connection dropped after about 15 minutes of use. This morning, there is still no internet connection even though iBurst terminal says it's connected.

So, I guess.................it's not fixed going into the third day

iBurst was working fine this morning, went down again about an hour ago.

I'm a patient guy, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

my status light is now green (working) but my internet connection light on my router is still red (off) .... I have tried to reset the router and the modem, but no luck with connection ... any suggestions ? Using a D-Link router for wi-fi

Have had several random dc's the past day but now it seems to have died again.

Same here, can't login, their website is also down again, don't know what's going on. I mean really Iburst, how difficult is it to get someone to tweet the latest developments in this ongoing fiasco? As it has already been pointed out; technically Iburst is now entering a area of service non-delivery, a breach of contract.

About 17h25 lost signal. Green light on, flickering intermittently. Presume Iburst is bust again. Connecting via Vodacom I cannot connect to iburst.co.za

Signal back again 17h51. Can access iburst.co.za again. Lets see if Iburst has any info on its incident report. Nothing so far on its twitter feed.

Can access iburst website but no response from incident report or network status. Network is unusually fast - probably most have not yet logged on again.
