*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

We are experiencing degradation to international internet services due to a submarine fibre failure.

We apologize for the problem. Different sites will be affected with slow load times.

One would assume that the "Incident Report" feature on the website is intended for situations such as this. It reflects neither today's problem nor yesterday's.

This is normally the first port of call for anyone experiencing a problem. Not everyone is aware of the MyBB forums.

I, and I'm guessing many others as well, would have saved time and been spared frustration if this was working as intended.

Judging from the excerpts from e-mails that I've seen, the constant problems and the quality of service from the company as a whole, it appears that the janitorial staff is being upgraded to desk jobs.

Thank G*d my contract expires on Saturday.

These ****ing DNS errors are not Seacom's fault.

I've been getting dns errors all day especially when trying to load local websites. Speed are also useless to local websites especially to mybroadband.co.za. Weird thing is that I've tried using open dns, google dns and ibursts dns and they are all failing.

Think I'm going to move to adsl next month and migrate my iburst account to the 80mb package. This is just ridiculous now.

When posting a reply I just got a DNS Error message. It took 4 attempts to load the page. The problem is still there. Local websites as well as international.

It's not fixed.

2 days of work lost, thanks iBurst. And no, dns errors are still happening.

Whether Seacom is down or not it shouldn't have any effect on ibursts DNS servers... or are the servers hosted somewhere overseas?

48 Hours and iBurst access is still not functioning. I think its time to consider a move over to Cell C!

Even browsing myBB is a pain. Feels like I'm throttled at 64kbps...

Upstreams are still reporting congestion although the Seamcom fibre fault is fixed.

In Cape Town things are still very slow. Trying to download from skynews.com and its a pain. Exceptionally high latency in games as well.

Oh IBurst....such a good run for so long. I really hope this gets sorted out asap.

Oh look everyone..

The iBurst ship is starting to brake in two like the titanic. Better get the lifeboats ready :P
