*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Anyone else having a painful browsing experience? Websites taking forever to open (if they do), timeouts when trying to open most sites (including Google and MyBroadband) resulting in having to try 5 or 6 times to open a site, etc.

EDIT: I see on the iBurst website that Krugersdorp is reported as "Down". Guess that's the cause, hope they fix it soon.

I'm nowhere near Krugersdorp and have been having timeouts and slow browsing for days, now. Trying to be patient, but...come on, iBurst...It's getting a tad irritating now. :(

Must admit I'm struggling not to have a serious sense of humour failure here. Since my cell phone went on the fritz, iBurst is my only connection to the outside world, I'm trying to get insurance claims settled, find repair places, and ... iBurst is down yet again. It's just getting a bit much, all these regular problems.

Yes there are a number of problems in Krugersdorp and the field technicians are attending.

iBurst are pathetic. I can't understand how they get away with charging for what they fail to deliver. :(

I'm telling you, it was the cleaning staff.

Close but no cigar. One of the network devices was still upset about the treatment it received on hot bloody Sunday by the hosting facility. It needed to be placated with a suppository.

BTW: Does anyone have a link to the story where the cleaning staff plugged in a vacuum clear and killed a poor patient in ICU? If memory serves me this happened in Bloemfontein?

I have tested on my modem from home and browsing looks normal.

There has been an improvement but there are still websites that refuse to load. This pos has been broken for the better part of the month. All we ever hear is ?#%^$!!! upstream providers. Does iBurst seriously not have any kind of service level agreement with them? Why is the company locked into an agreement with a service provider that can't deliver? Where's the leadership? Where's the leader??

Where's Jannie???

Jannie left iburst a while ago...

I know. And it's been downhill ever since. At least then we knew that the CEO was taking an active interest. I'd lay odds that the replacement spends more time picking his nose than he does worrying about the service that his company is being paid to provide.

I'm sure there were alot of other people that worked very hard behind the scenes, not just Jannie. Unfortunately Jannie lost a lot of creditability when he childishly lied to residents. But this isn't the topic for that.

Why is it so slow these days? Who is this upstream provider and if they are being replaced in Jan does that mean we'll have better service from the 1st Jan?

If I'm not mistaken r00igev@@r said a while ago that they can't divulge any info concerning the upstream provider. Frankly I'm doubtful that much will change - when it's not the upstream provider it's "peering links" and g*d knows what else designed to confuse those who, like me, lack technical expertise.

I'm not an IT professional, but I've been around long enough to know that when the ship's bow is underwater, it's stern is sticking up in the air and the captain is nowhere to be seen, that f***er's going down.
