*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

Extremely slow speed..

Anobody else experiencing slow speed in Randburg area? We stay in Linden and speed has been very slow since Thursday last week.

Phoned Iburst a few times and they said there were some problems over the weekend, but they are now resolved..
But still not..although, not here..

Hi There, please PM me your details and will have a look to see whats happening on your side.

Very slow browsing and high latency.

Speedtest I usually hit higher than 85 here:

For the past few weeks my icursed been dragging... 90%+ Signal...

I'm in Kensington and my terminal UTL software always shows above 90% signal. I used DRTCP21 yesterday with a call center agent.

I am apparently also connecting to the kensignton base station, and I get crazy amounts of jitter and the ping is also high.

I have an external omni up too.

I'm still getting crappy lag spikes in wow. Also when opening websites it would just hangon on "connecting".

Oh yeah no need for a omni antenna. 100% signal no matter where i am in the house. Iburst tower is about 100m from me. This latency issues started when i upgraded to the Max25 and 2mb modem. Going to switch back to the 1mb modem tonight and see if that makes any difference.

oh wow, so close to a tower and still wierd issues? Very strange man...

I cant really suggest anything there lol.

Aye thanks for the suggestion tho. The Iburst rep did pm me for my details so I'll have to wait and see if she comes up with something.

Hmm, may I ask what kind of setup you have?

Like modem -> router -> wifi/lan -> pc

Or is it just modem to pc?

Either way you can always check for faulty lan cables, reset your router and start over (make sure the MTU is properly set) or check for new network card drivers.
When I have issues I usualy try to pin point exactly where the problem is coming from, but you may have already done this and all signs point to the modem.
