*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

There were issues with telkom earlier in the week if you check their forums on MYBB. Some people are still having those issues, the fact that iBurst has not released any info on the estimated time to fix makes me think its going to be a good few days before any resolution is found.

Whether or not its isolated to iBurst or other ISP's as well, the point that everyone always comes to is lack of communication from their HR/PR or whichever people are responsible for keeping their customers informed.

Yeah, I saw that too. Looks like a lot of ISPs were affected, and there are still some lingering problems. I was also suspicious about it and thought that it may be related to the iBurst problems we're experiencing now. Originally, I was hoping that it would be fixed today, but when iBurst said it would be fixed shortly, I kinda knew it might take a few days.

As you said, Stõrmza, we're not getting any real information about this problem, even though we're the ones directly affected. At the very least, iBurst could give more situation updates or even a rough idea of the severity of the problem and the time it would take to fix.

Yep, I would be happy with "We are going to be down for a few days but we are working around the clock to resolve the issue." I'm not unhappy with my iBurst connection nor am I unhappy with the technical staff working on the issue we all know IT is unpredictable at times and things take time to resolve this is directed purely at the HR/PR side of iBurst they really are clueless about customer satisfaction.

They really are clueless about customer satisfaction. You can already see the results of iBurst's general silence. A lot of people are angry, disappointed, losing patience and threatening to move to other ISP's. It's completely understandable. It's been a few days since the suffering started, and still no one really knows what's happening.

Sorry I have been on leave and haven't logged into MyBB.
There has been a EASSY outage on the east coast at Maputo so all traffic is going international via the west coast. There were some additional conditions that resulted in congestion of up to 10% on the west coast route. The repair should be completed within the next day.

Lack of honest communication has always kept Iburst from being a great ISP. Been with them since late 2004 and many times been annoyed enough at being treated like a mushroom to want to change, but the convenience and consistency of the service has made me stay. It has certainly caused me at times to advise people against going to Iburst.
(In case not everyone knows, a mushroom is kept in the dark and fed on sh...t.)

Thanks for the update Ronald.

I have tested and all is 100% for me again, Latency is good for gaming again and I can finally download meaningless cr@p and waste my cap again :)

Download :: 912 Kbps 114 kB/s Upload :: 341 Kbps 43 kB/s

Thanks again and hope your leave was good!

BTW: Stange how people can be fascinate by staring at the progress of a file download...

Nope. Everything is working well for me. What's the nature of the issues you're experiencing?

Anyone having issues with Gmail and Google on iBurst?
Google was having some general problems earlier. I noticed that I was being redirected to international servers instead of local ones. That will cause things to be a little sluggish.

International is really slow at the moment,
