[RELEASE] DStv Now KODI Add-on

In a nutshell, what is merge used for? Dstv worked fine and still is before looking into this merge. So what's the purpose of or for it

Gives you a fantastic tv guide for dstv and can also be used to merge for instance another iptv service so you have one list of channels.

How do I go about getting the guide. I followed the steps though.
Can I add netflix?
Or showmax

If you added iptv merge open it and select the option to install iptv simple client, then add a playlist and EPG (on both select dstv now) and do a 'run merge'
You should then have a 'TV' menu on the main screen of kodi where you will find the channels / guide as submenu

You cannot merge netflix and showmax but there is addons for both, showmax also done by Matt / Slyguy

It's on a Android, Not Certified. Second time in few days. Can check everything besides Live Tv

You should remove that ip from settings, only needed when you are outside SA or using an overseas vpn server (this usually causes buffering though). In that case use a random SA ip like 196.25.1.1

I tried it, with no luck.
I simply dont get the guide. I do see it load on 1 side though but not seeing it.
Mind posting a video perhaps dm for e responde email.

That error message posted earlier indicated you did not use the default 0.0.0.0
If you have a SA ip address you can use 0.0.0.0 or any valid sa ip like 196.25.1.1 as example
After some digging, it was on 0.0.
Actually tried putting in the default route and did the same. Tried log out and in, same thing.
Actually went on to reset the danm box and it worked again.

No video needed if you see the guide loading top right, your settings is correct.
Big question: do you have a "TV" menu option on the left hand side?
If not you might have disabled it in the settings. Trying a fresh kodi install without any skins or anything should show you if it is settings related.

After some digging, it was on 0.0.

Then you have some very unique setup. If you go into settings the 'x-forward-for ip address' should be 0.0.0.0 (even 0.0 works) Impossible to get that error you posted if it is 0.0.0.0 or 0.0

Also no need to reset the box, just uninstall the dstv now and iptv-merge addons and say yes when asked to remove the settings then it is good for a fresh install

the error the user got about the bad IP was from DSTV (not the add-on)
Its saying his devices IP address or his "public" IP isn't recognised as a public ip.
So something odd going on with device but looks like it sorted itself with a reboot.

Ok I assume you would know but my assumptions were:

As you would know with ip addressing there is 3 private ranges not addressable on the internet

  • 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
  • 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255
  • 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255
The bad ip error was 10.42.250.230 which falls in the first range. If I enter it into the addon settings for the forwarded ip I get the same error he had, so I assumed he entered that private ip manually.

Another thing I assumed when he said "reset" is that he reset the whole android box to factory settings, guess he could have meant reboot, that is why I suggested just uninstalling the addons and removing their settings.

It's up to its crap again. It's only dstv add on loaded, no iptv merge as I'm not still comfortable with iptv merge. The IP issue is back again, it's at default and I even put the Live TV as a favourite as to avoid any unnecessary fiddling. Its 1 of those Mqx or something of that sort devices. WiFe is costing me a bunch of trips to fix this at home as she is not savvy lol.

Basic setup. No skins No Nothing, just dstv. I set it on Info Wall.

Reset it, solved the problem for yesterday, this Morning it's back.
My Ip Range is 10.0.0.0 /24from isp but I am on Default Route on the Forwarding.

Then this 1 came also.
OMGosh
Here I'm out the woods lol
